Re: LATE MODEL REAR SEAT

Thanks for that Mark. One of the local trimmers is able to use the leather (and the vinyl), so it's on it's way to him to do as he wishes. I was surprised at the quality of the all aspects of the seat, Rover really tried hard with the 800's. The local scrap lads will get a few pence from the metalwo...

LATE MODEL REAR SEAT

I have a folding rear seat from a 96 model Sterling in "biscuit" colour with green piping. It's in great condition and free to a good home. There are no headrests with it and it's far too heavy to transport cheaply. I'll keep it for the next week or two then bin it unless somebody wants it and is ab...

Re: Model Rover 800

Found this Mk2 3d printed model, bit pricey for me at £50 plus notes and it would need painting or "pewtering" for the display cabinet. https://images2.sw-cdn.net/product/picture/710x528_30191425_16136616_1577979837.jpg Had absolutely nothing to do with 3d printing so really can't comment on what th...

Gives a bit of info on the Western Models Mk 2 if you can be bothered to do the Translate thing.
Hope the link works

Re: Model Rover 800

Hi Pat There was a bit of a discussion about this ages ago on the forum (sorry can't remember when or where). There are some dealer issue Mk2 models kicking about, the paper weight things about 1/43 (Dinky toy) scale made of "pewter" or something resembling it. They come up on ebay every blue moon. ...

Re: New book on 800

Thanks Dave, I bet the collective knowledge of this site could really add to the James Taylor book! I do agree with your interpretation of the issue with the Legends made by Cowley, I wonder where the author got his info from. I did read a theory that one of the things which troubled British Industr...

Re: New book on 800

Well, I've just read my copy of this book and to be perfectly honest I was disappointed with some of the home truths which I really really hoped were just anti BL urban legends. Tales of faulty road test cars and that Honda were not happy with the Legends produced at Cowley etc are a couple that spr...

Re: BP Ultimate

It is running on higher revs during cruising though. Not a scientific test in anyway but it certainly feels faster than it ever has. You sure the gearbox is going into top? Sport mode without you knowing it? Does it have sport mode on your model, my KV6 does. I'd really like to believe the more exp...

Re: A Tip From The Old Bugger

As an aside, one of those things that annoys me beyond reason (like foglamps in the dark and people sitting on the footbrake at lights and people stopping on the right hand side of the road at night with their headlights on - where the fxxk do these morons think their dipped lights are pointing?) ar...

Re: A Tip From The Old Bugger

I thought the engine warming up thing went out of favour sometime in the 70's when the advice I was given as a learner was to drive off gently as soon as you started the engine (having scraped and deiced the windows). Theory was that this warmed the engine quicker than idling thus preventing wear an...

Re: "Rover Relay" ? A suggestion.

Excellent idea Mal. Would a central map which showed all interested members regular journies be of help in this, does anybody know of some appropriate software? Hope something comes of this, I'd like to give something back for all the info I've gleaned from here!

Re: KV6 Coupe

Just to add my bit, I definitely saw a very late, manual, KV6 coupe in the scrapyard in Derby so I suppose a manual gearbox was available as an option at some point.

Re: Rover 75, expensive ride

you could trade in the mondeo.
I don't reckon so, Cat D, 200,000 miles and ready for a clutch! Still drives fine and worth about just a bit more than scrap!
Nice thought though!
