Re: 825 sterling coupe window problem
Count yourself lucky, when my cable snapped the glass just fell into the door! You used to be able to buy the drum and cable assembly for a couple of hundred quid, but your best bet would probably be the entire glass/motor/frame assembly from a breaker these days. It's very straightforward to remove.

Re: Cruise in 827 Vitesse.
My favourite 800 variant of any sort! I particularly like the 827 Vitesse wheels.

Re: Rover 825 Sterling Diesel Coupe - updated with photos
Looking at those interior pics has me wistfully remembering my Vitesse Coupe in white gold and stone beige. For all the many faults it was always a very lovely place to sit.

Re: 2003 Jaguar S-Type for sale
That's very unusual, a 2003 car but it's the pre-facelift model - must be one of the last registered.

Re: ABBAmobile
A chap I know bought one of these new in 1996 on a P plate, and moved it on it last year with 270,000 miles on the clock. Original exhaust and shocks, tired though they were. It never broke down, and never cost him any real money in maintenance. He serviced it reasonably well and drove with a bit of...

How many left?
Has anyone else seen this site:
http://howmanyleft.co.uk
It's brilliant, but paints a grim picture of 800 survival rates. No more than a couple of thousand left, if you add up all variants.
ETA - Just spotted the link to this in the thread on 820 turbo survival rates.

I really, really loved my 4 litre X300, it was a sad (if hilarious) day when I wrapped it around a lamp post :( Closest thing I've found to a mechanically unburstable car though, in 3 years and about 60k miles of driving it like I stole it all I did was routine servicing. Still felt good r...

The early turbo coupe's were down on the log book as 820 turbo and I believe were referred to in the brochures as such too. After a very short time they seemed to have a change of heart and then they became Vitesse coupes. Anyone know what sort of mileages the turbocharged 800s tend to live to? I kn...

'96 Mini Sprite
Just bought today from my mother, who got it from an elderly chap 18 months ago. 1996 N plate with 32,000 miles on the clock, backed up by original fit Pirelli Cinturato tyres (advisory on the last MOT about wear level) and a pile of old MOTs. It's got a couple of little rust spots, and two bits of ...

A trip computer would be nice - it always struck me as a really odd omission from the R17. As someone has mentioned, cupholders would be good. Also decent sized door bins and glove box would be appreciated. Headlights that are better than damp candles maybe? I'd have loved a more powerful V6 - the t...

It should be an easy fixer, yeah. Cleaning the interior will be a labour of love, and the paint looks a bit flat but polished up very nicely before I sold it on to him. It's a genuine car, and if it doesn't go to an entusiast it'll be getting weighed in at the local scrappy, so we actually stand to ...
