Re: 1991 MK1C 827 Vitesse For Sale

I can only add that this is a hell of lot of car for the money. Anyone who is even remotely interested in experiencing a well sorted and hyper-rare Mk1 827 would be mad to pass on the chance of owning this. I sold this to Jon a couple of years ago and hugely enjoyed my time with it. Yes, it has colo...

Re: Rover 75 woes

I know! LS bits are really cheap in California, I have had loads of stuff flown over and its always cheaper than buying in the local motor factors.

Genuine Lexus parts are also cheaper to fly in from Japan than buy from local dealer.

Crazy.

Re: Rover 75 woes

Just seen this thread - quite an epic struggle. I know 75's are very prone to spring breakage. I changed both springs and shocks on my wifes 75 tourer a while back after I bent the shock after hitting a large boulder in the lake district. Quite a faff really, even though no brake lines were involved...

Re: Won't start in hot sun

Almost certainly this is the PGMFI relay, just take it out, resolder the joints and put back - then all will be well.

Take a look here:

Re: The 1986 825 Sterling - Rebecca, Farewell

So, after three years of pleasure it was time for someone else to look after Rebecca for a while.. The usual excuses of too many toys and not enough time meant she was not getting the attention she deserves. Anyway, this happened yesterday: https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8601/15622920564_575f362b7d_...

Re: Handy parts site

I have had quite a few bits and pieces from XJRover. Very helpful chap, lives just down the road from my son which is handy.

He seems to turn up rare and obscure 827 parts pretty frequently.

Bridging the Gap: The Honda / Acura Legend and Rover 800

You may be interested in reading this pretty comprehensive piece which deals with the history of the Legend and 800. It is obviously told from an american perspective and features heavily on the Honda aspects - but I found it interesting because of that anyway. http://ateupwithmotor.com/model-histor...

Re: Fuel filler tubes

http://www.rover800.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9632 Still not totally convinced they are completely necessary. The majority of fillers I have ever examined have these tubes rusted through, so clearly not doing very much! Obviously it would be best to reproduce them - they are a common enough fea...

Another stuck thermostat/cooling flush needed! Pity they have left it that way and driven it though... Wonder if cambelt has ever been changed?

Re: The 1986 825 Sterling - Rebecca

Hi Kate you are probably right... It is just the usual things... the trade off between the pleasure of owning/driving it compared with the effort of storing and maintaining in context of all the other stuff I have and need to do! I am short on space too, with all 9 covered parking slots full and som...

The 1986 825 Sterling - Rebecca

Just thinking out loud and testing the water.... but if I were to say that Rebecca - probably the earliest surviving 800 in the country - would be available to go to a new and loving home, would there be serious interest here? http://www.rover800.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8223 PM me if you thin...

Re: The 1986 825 Sterling - Rebecca

Very much appreciated - but I have got one thanks. The MOT made no reference to the rear view mirror not being present, so not clear if he failed to notice, of if it is not required! Anyway, I got one just like the one in your pic - which is identical to the original apart from the actual fitting to...
