that's one of the reasons there are not many about would have been a high tax car... the turrets are now made up and have tried the air suspension out the rear goes up fairly quick but takes ages to come down, it must have some sort of restrictor in there somewhere... the front well it doesn't appea...

I have just purchased a merc e220 estate blue thingy.... it is a sixteen plate has nearly 200k and was £7.5k which I think is very cheap.. I have till now found no fault at all except the servicing, it has been regularly serviced being a chauffeur car, but doesn't appear to have had a gearbox servic...

not shrunk either the wheel base is very similar just taller and smaller cab area

I hope so otherwise all that work will be for nothing... the idea is it will be a good cruiser with a good turn off speed, very much like the jag, but I think it will be about 3-400 kg lighter than the xj6 that everything came from, just better... lol..... any car show that I want to go to will let ...

it is air suspension proper jag on the rear and shitreon on the front at the moment but have more work to do on the front might have to change them.. have been strengthening the rear suspension today... still waiting for more metal, so I can build the tops of the shox..

I have got the wings which compared to mine are mint, inner and outer all one piece and a couple of light repairs and they are good.. in the lockdown I have been doing lots of welding and grinding and some more grinding and its grinding my nerves... lol the rear of the car is mostly stable now still...

well I was wrong although the thrust bearing was very noisy it did not cure the issue, the lesson: when you have taken the gearbox off always check the clutch properly... the issue was the spline teeth in the centre of the clutch plate had stripped on one of the plates.. the cause of this was one of...

I have spent probably the equivalent of at least a week rebuilding the wing on the n/s and it still needs more work, I was asking for some info/pics for the front where the wing joins the grill sort of area, and I get offered 2 front wings nervously I said how much? and to my surprise he said £50......

so its in the garage stripped and confirmed it is the thrust bearing is very noisy and not seized, is mostly back together and will be sorted for the mot while its here.. if all goes well it will be at pol in april… regards ricky

have now taken a slight chance and ordered the thrust bearing should arrive on Tuesday will then get it fitted, and hopefully will go to pol in it, with an eye to selling it..

the morris is very slow because of all the other cars around me but have finally finished mounting the front subframe, the n/s front wing is happily reunited with it's inner self, been trying to get some of the other morris 18 owners to take some pictures of the wing connection so I can see how it m...

I have found a new supplier of the clutch in bridgewater of all places, so will probably order the bearing while the money from the sterling is burning a hole in my pocket, then just have to get it sorted.. regards ricky
