Re: Rover Job Lot inc 800s
As im sure you know, the early ones were 180bhp, the later ones 200bhp, if memory serves correctly the easy way to tell is dizzy = 180bhp, no dizzy = 200bhp Incorrect. dizzy is pre 1996 and no dizzy is post 1996. The 180 was the first, the 200 BHP Vitesse sport appeared later but in around 1994 IIR...

Re: 800 coupe going cheap?
Having owned both Vitesse and 827 coupés I would say the 2.7 is the best engine of the lot, it's the least trouble, does most of what a turbo will, sounds nicer and is a LOT more refined

Re: 1986 820e ?D634 WYG
One thing I have noticed, the pin stripe is wrong on both sides, the early cars like this had it following the upper swage line, later cars had it on the lower swage line as shown here. The question is why? the most probably reason is the whole thing has been painted.. again why? could be full of fi...

Re: 820 Sterling
However it was avaiable on the 420. Same system used on the KV6 so retrofitting should be possible. I had a lot of the parts as I was thinking about doing it on my Vitesse Coupe

Re: I Just Bought a Jag
No you bought a MONDEO with stick on jag badges That crap again! There is practically bugger all that is shared - try bolting some X-type parts onto a Mondeo and see how you get on. Of course, your favourite drive is just a Honda Legend with a few tweaks........ Well the engine fits (AJ-v6??? don't...

Re: Mark 1 Rover Sterling leather back seats in FLINT comple
With a bit of fabrication they can be fitted to a fastback, As I did this mod in 2000 to my Mk1 Vitesse. I even retained the reclining function!, It does involve stripping the cushions off the vitesse seats leaving only the upright section, then fabricating the upper mountings (I cut these out of th...

Re: Brad's Mark 1 Rover 800 parts
Failing a bronze door do you ahve an early sterling 2 tone door? as that will remove the need to paint the lower half! No. It's no trouble to paint a whole door, surely? With metalic paint.. yes it is! unless you paint the enitre car it will never match, although TBH neither will a panel from anoth...

Re: Brad's Mark 1 Rover 800 parts
I have a bad feeling his steering column is bent but could well be wrong I shall find out. It was the Bronze F reg that was at Gaydon when you brought your gold Coupe along. Failing a bronze door do you ahve an early sterling 2 tone door? as that will remove the need to paint the lower half!

Re: Mk1 827 Vitesse
Simon Stirley's 827 Vitesse was a '90 but also had the small bumpers and 6 dial dash (ans thus 88 build I think) this was fairly common to find thanks to Rovers policy of storing them on airfields.. It's the same reason 'Late' 825 often have kettles under the bonnet

Re: My Sterling Boy's and Girls LPG And cheap
For futire referance any 827 auto bix will fit any 827 auto. I know the later ones have more sensors but you just have to swap the endplate over to convert from one to the other, its not a lot of work at all

Re: Brad's Mark 1 Rover 800 parts
Do you have a drivers side front door in bronze? A friend of mine had his Bronze XX sterling broken into and they bent the door frame doing so, and smasked the ignition lock. Its been sealed up buit has not really gone anywhere scince
