Re:

[quote="Very Tall Brad"]Great phone picture, Mo. Me and my mate had these in the 80's - Motorola's, they were and tough as anything. One day, Paul left his on the roof of his car and drove off. It bounced into the road and was run over by several vehicles. He went back for it and it still worked. Su...

Re: why did brad sell all his 800s

another thing i thought about when I'm not thinking of what to do to the 827 next, is why did brad sell all his 800s? There were two reasons. The first was a realisation after being so ill in 2012 that there was more to life than cars. Endlessly cleaning, insuring, moving them around and keeping th...

Re: Early Mark 2 (non airbag dash) dash wood

No. I have disposed of everything now. I have no 800 parts at all. Anything I couldn't sell or donate or give away was burned or, in the case of metal, recycled.

Re: Grey 827 Vitesse Fastback H628***?

The Vitesse In this model year was available with a catalyst, Paul. This car looks bog standard and original to me. That year yes. (H) but this is obviously a late registered Mk1b as it has the clocks which were added as an addendum to the Mk1a models which make it a Mk1b. Also it has the early Tri...

Re: Simon's Vitesse Coupe

I agree. Leaving the door on is a great idea when painting as they are so ruddy heavy to manhandle!

Re: K966 VDF

Blimey. It was only in Wolverhampton! At such a low price, you could almost consider the car was free! I really do hope this one survives. Not many are left that are totally original. Most have been repainted or welded or patched. This is a virgin, untouched car and needs someone to give it the care...

Re: Simon's Vitesse Coupe

Nice painting, Simon. As regards removing the cassette to change the door handle, this is the best way to do it. Last year, I swapped a door cassette for one of Lord Sterling's cars and can do it in around 45 minutes now. I think the first one took about three hours but that was a very very long tim...

Around 60 were Mark 1 cars, a few Mark 2 cars and around 6 Coupes.

Re: K966 VDF

I don't recall having much in the way of paperwork when I bought the car apart from some recent receipts for the cooling system/head gasket/cambelts/water pump work undertaken by the seller a month or so before I bought it. These Coupes definitely need to be kept 100% in a dry garage. Even leaving t...

Re: K966 VDF

Sad to see this languishing. I bought this from a very nice man called Paul in Ewell, Surrey. I remember very clearly taking the train to collect it from his home. The car was very very nice to drive and worth every penny if the £325 I paid for it. The head gaskets and cambelts gad just been done - ...

Re: Black 1990 Rover Vitesse 827 auto H905YFV

It wasn't that bad when I first got it from a nice man in Kent called Lucas Lee but, like a lot of late Mark 1 cars, it suffered badly with dodgy electrics and severe condensation issues. The car needed trailer ink as it was a non starter and had stood outside his house for some time. I can't recall...
