Re: Got to make you laugh

The joke is that they even got on a degree course. Its getting to the point when we employ people we actively seek those who have had life experience rather than 27 GNVQs and a fancy degree.

Re: Pride of Longbridge 14th April 2018

I didn't go, it looked like a H+S nightmare, I've heard stories of people being shouted at by 'her ladyship' who donned a hi-vis and started acting like god by all accounts, also there's too many chavs turning up at these events now, mainly because a ZR or ZS is dirt cheap to buy and then they spend...

Re: My Mum's new Clio

Of all the Marques owned by my family, Rover comes top for reliability, closely followed by Fiat. Yet according to What Car, Auto Express, et al these were/are crap cars that only a fool would buy....

Re: My Mum's new Clio

French cars in my experience are vastly inconsistent. My mother's C3 was a total joke and a very poor replacement for her Rover, breaking down 3 times in 18 months. It was replaced by a Pug 207 and that was utterly excellent and the model she chose (1.6 VTi 120 auto) actually shares its powerplant w...

Eventually when I get through all the paperwork on mine I'll post the full story of its purchase from Hartwell Rover Telford.

Re: Benny's back in a Vitesse!

Thanks Dave for all this info!

I think you're right, cars were built and stockpiled on the lot. Obviously I would have loved to own the very last one but hey any Vitesse is a good car :)

Is MBJ a silver fastback by any chance?

Re: Benny's back in a Vitesse!

This is the 2nd W plater I've seen for sale in the last 12 months, its not the youngest registered one though as I'm sure Craig Cheetham spotted a Y reg previously.

Re: Benny's back in a Vitesse!

I missed having one! Always found them to be big and comfy to drive and in Vitesse form, impressively quick. As I intend to move the Bravo on next year it may even be temporarily promoted to daily duties. The plan is then to obtain something smoky for day to day use and fix up all the little jobs t...

Re: Benny's back in a Vitesse!

Yes, the leather is peeling itself away so for the time being the moulded plastic one will do.

Good shout about Range Rover parts will look at those too.
Thanks.

Re: Benny's back in a Vitesse!

Hi Dave I'm hoping to collect it next weekend as I'm working all week sadly. I am pleased to hear of an honourable sniper, unfortunately I seem to get issues whenever I sell on there involving a last minute bidder! and yes I fully appreciate the karma of the situation, the runner up won for a change!

Benny's back in a Vitesse!

Its been a few years since I last owned an 800, the V reg 827 SLi automatic once owned by Brad and converted to a MK1 style front end. In the meantime I've owned a few other Rovers and a few left field choices such as an Omega 2.2 petrol (utter rubbish) MK2 Chrysler Neon (surprisingly good) Fiat Cou...

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately

Toyota Yaris Design HSD Bi-Tone Our 2nd car, mainly being used by my mother to visit my nan. We did consider an EV but the real range just isn't where we need it to be at the moment, for example the Leaf states it will do 120 miles but the reality is nearer 80. So we chose a hybrid Yaris, its on a 3...

Re: Rover vitesse wanted

This car used to be shown at Peterborough BL Rally, with identical looks to my old automatic Vitesse 'CPA'. I think you've done well there, fair money for a good MK1.
