Re: ricky's rover sterling
Theres a little rod/bar broken off from the right hand track that prevents the mech lowering properly for the glass to slide forward into the closed position from the retracted position. The locks have the PITA relocking when they feel like it syndrome, drivers lock only works on key.(rod was discon...

Re: ricky's rover sterling
Usual Sterling issues Ricky. Electrics, sunroof mech, poss welding needed and other. I really need to get it inspected to see if it's worth doing, but with 130 needing new brake pipes fitting and retest, and gold barge unlikely to pass it's next test, my luck with cars at the moment is pretty low. O...

Re: ricky's rover sterling
Good to hear the Sterling is back to it's best.
My recently purchased 2.7 Strling is playing silly-buggers in various ways, and will also likely need some welding before next test.

Nightfire Red Front Wings / Bumpers (Fastback)
I have recently taken in a 1995 827 Sterling which was too good to let go to scrap. Over time there is various improvements needed, so I'm putting this out there now. Amongst other parts that I may find it needs as I go through the car, I will need a pair of "Rust Free" front Wings in Nightfire red,...

S118GAB Blue 820 Vitesse (is it known to the forum)?
Spotted today after being told about it by my Hermes guy. Just down the road from me, and looks like its been parked up since 2012. Couldn't get too close as at the bottom of someones driveway. MOT history didn't look too bad, and last test fail was for easily sorted issues, so makes you wonder why ...

I understand this car has had a lot of work done in prep for a rebuild, and that Mat intends to finish the work to a high standard over time.

Very true Scoobs,
IIRC they didn't introduce a Factory Diesel option until the VM Engine (86/?)
So period conversions like this one were very popular, especially with more "Rural" owners.

Re: It's new to us, and it's built by the "Rover Car Company"
"Factory Diesel" rangeys even when virtual wrecks are comanding daft prices. We bought this one, because besides the obvious in regards to condition etc, it's the age she wanted (youngest 4 door model you can get) and the spec she wanted. The engine change was in our favour as it limited interest fr...

Re: It's new to us, and it's built by the "Rover Car Company"
Problem for us was finding the right one at a fair price. Classic range rovers are shooting up in value, and even owners with basket case 90's examples are asking stupid prices for them. This one has it's issue's as do all older motors, but the biggest issue for most buyers was the period engine con...
