Well, after less than two months I'm now going to prep this Rangie for sale  I'm splitting from the missus, and money is going to be extremely tight (in addition to several other major financial uncertainties...) so this is a luxury I cannot possibly afford now. Even more annoyingly, it has new...

In all seriousness Chris, you know you can drop the suspension down to the bump-stops (it's called easy access mode or something similar)? I'm over 6"2' and couldn't reach the back of the boot without clambering in myself... Boot is huge...it's like a fairly sizable van if you tip the rear seats for...

I'm too short so find it a pain to get anything more than a few feet in.

Almost forgot to mention. It came with those plastic light guards fitted all round...well, except where they'd been smashed off (explains the ding n one front wing). Although they are genuine Land Rover parts, they're plastic rubbish that wouldn't (and didn't...) protect the lights from anything big...

Thinking of LPG'ing it? Yes, quite possibly once I know for sure it's running perfectly. I'll do a "Richard M" and accumulate bits from Fleabay rather than shell out for a whole kit. In truth, I've got a bigger hankering for a manual gearbox...if I see one and can afford it, that'll wing it's way t...

Malcolm's 4.6 P38 Range Rover

Popped out on Saturday and came back with something other than a paper and pint of milk... http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/3457/rangerover05042010001.jpg http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/3434/rangerover05042010002.jpg http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/5031/rangerover05042010003.jpg And the all imp...

Blimey, yes it is! Oh well, if some of the parts find a good home then that's no bad thing I guess. Engine is good by the way (timing belt is on, lots of plugs and cables need refitting though which means it won't start - this is probably why he thinks it's fecked) Hope he's cleaned the mould off th...

Steady you'll go getting a reputation similar to mine. I dunno Chris - I haven't even passed the entrance exam for the kindergarten of 800 dismantlers yet, whereas you're marking the PhD student's dissertations..! :P You're right though...it does feel odd being car-less. Watch this space....

Okay - an admission...I started my new job even sooner than I expected last autumn so never polished off the car. It's one of those jobs that takes up a lot of your life one way and another - although that's settled down a little and hopefully will be more sensible moving forward. Hence my absence o...

They all look the same apart from the detachable types. The difference is in the length of the neck not the design. I made that clear just incase you were thinking of buying it incase you did have some parts missing. I (now) know Chris is right about this, but I think that the length difference is ...

Pete, I know you want to shift the whole thing, but if it's going to die anyway, do you have (and would you remove) the hose from the intercooler to the throttle body? And what is the condition of the two top brackets that hold the aircon rad to the front slam panel? And...could I also ask about get...

! in

Hi Chris - at £40 a pair you can't say no..!! I'd definitely be interested in a full set (mk2 fronts obviously).

Sort of reiterating/rewording Mike's question, I assume you can't adapt the rear dampers to take a Mk2 top mount?

If not it's off to the "Parts Wanted" section!!!

Cheers,

 That's really bad luck Vard.

Once she's back on the ground, I might give mine a 500 mile oil change post the head gasket swap (it's 4th oil change this year) and go OTT on the flushing/diesel oil malarky..!

Welcome - I think you'll find this a very agreeable place for an SD1 nut. Most of us seem to lust after them and there is at least one occasional/regular poster with a V8 Vitesse. Lovely Vit you have there (I'm a BRG fan myself); a credit to your polishing skills. Nice set of well thought through mo...
