Re: My Rover 827 Sterling Option Pack 1989

As I said in this post : http://rover800.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14838&p=156340#p156340 The journalist like the handling of the manual gearbox of the Rover 825. This is for me a bad point on my car, and I don't know if it is my car who has a problem (It is old) or if it comes from me (and I...

Re: The other Lodein's cars

Oh I love the Daimlers, much more than the Jags really. I too have a lost dream of having an XJ-S but I would prefer the later 4.0 with the new shape quarter lights, rear windows. But I ended up with an 800 coupe instead! :D

Re: The other Lodein's cars

I do agree with Dave and Simon. The Pug Coup is really nice! It actually feels a bit like the 800 coupe, a different car from the regular saloon or estate/fastback.

Re: My Rover 827 Sterling Option Pack 1989

Still not many scratches for such an old car. Overall it's in a very good condition. My black Mk1 Vitesse is a rolling restoration, one thing at the time but mechanically and when it comes to body work. Fortunately mine is very undented and straight so that is good. I think yours is very nice Lodein...

Excellent on the satin black trims. It’s all in the details! :)
You beat me to it Henrik, i was going to say similar!

Had planned to do mine over this summer but it didn't happen!
Haha Dave, if you knew how much I had planned for the Summer! But hey, It’s only 6months left until the next! :D

Re: My Rover 827 Sterling Option Pack 1989

That is a very beautiful car! Congratulations! And a manual non cat 827, those are rare! I have one myself (vitesse) but no where near as nice as yours.

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Excellent news - sometimes new is just the best way! Great news Henrik! :D Thanks! Well not new but ”new”. Got them from one of the Facebook folks Daniel Joseph Bryan, a really nice guy with a large number of spares and cars. I’ve invited him here too, I hope he finds his way. Next on the li...

Wheel bearing in the mail.

But a few days ago I received my Package with a set of new stalks and this evening I managed to fit them. And hey! Now my lights work as they should! So happy boy!!

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

The C27 has a very distinctive note that carries, even when it's quiet, not surprised your missus could hear you Henrik! I expect you gave it a bit more welly through frustration at going to the wrong side making it even more distinctive. :P  :D Always Dave! After 4K rpm everything gets a lot...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Still in between major surgery so made a few small things with the pliers and scalpell. The front wheels have had a terrible metallic hiss to them. I really didn’t bother but after work today I ripped the front pads off to inspect. And yes as I suspected the small stainless Piece between pads and ca...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Thanks Dave. It seems the mk1 and 2 are very different. The mk2 being more ”plastic like”. I’ve attacked both types and the mk1 is a lot easier to work with. Something chemical might be a solution but I think it would be very difficult. Personally I would like to try a strip of wood in somekind of c...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Did some other stuff. The large bent piece of wood was very cracked and some laquer flakes And even veneer was missing. Step one was to try to sand down the old laquer. Very hard as the laquer itself is som much harder than the wood so when I went through the laquer I would have removed the veneer i...
