Re: Two Headed 827
Excuse me to leave this thread for long time. It is sad to inform you that I have decided to move onto next art project and I am in the process to sort out my garage. Have been asking around to find a new home for my two headed 827 but unfortunately before I find one, I run out of time and I need to...

Re: Two Headed 827
Thanks to many people's generous help, 6 dial to 4 dial counter swap is done well. When putting it back, I noticed that some of the light bulbs on heater/ventilation panel, next to the 4 dials counter are dead. The bulbs are tightly sitting in those plastic multi connector and I don't know how to re...

Re: Two Headed 827
I have to confess that I didn't try it on street.
Jack up the front (err, the one with modded transducer), engage gear while engine running and checked if the speedo works or not.
So, it may not be accurate but hey speedo's MOT tolerance is +/- 15% or so anyway!

Re: Two Headed 827
Today I swapped the connector. http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff500/epic1400cs/Rover/Counter%20Swap/IMG_0516_zpsa140940a.jpg Following Mr Paul's advice, I used NT cutter (simillar to stanley knife) and managed to peel off the black insulation without touching the 3 wires inside. Soldered each o...

Thanks for your responses. :D Here is the picture of its overview. http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff500/epic1400cs/Rover/Counter%20Swap/connector3_zps2463b04a.jpg The sensor body looks longer than the newer one Mr Paul offered to me. I can't see any sign of wire repair and the colour of the wir...

Re: Two Headed 827
Today I went to garage (1 hour drive from my nest hence the delay!) and here is the intriguing truth.... :? http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff500/epic1400cs/Rover/Counter%20Swap/connector2_zps80f26a86.jpg Obviously the gear box or transducer has been replaced at some point of its life! Sorry for...

Re: Two Headed 827
Finally I have got the transducer and start the conversion. I though replacing the 3 pin connector on the newer transducer to the old one was simple but, as I guessed, the colour code of the wires are different  Old one : U(blue) / B(black) / R(red) Newer one : LGY(light green & yellow) / B...
