Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
The Viva has cruise control and an adjustable speed limit alarm. And a leather steering wheel, half leather seats... it's not very comfortable but the 75 will be used for longer journeys. The Viva gearbox has (as I understand it) a clutch but no clutch pedal and is operated by hydraulics and compute...

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
Vauxhall Viva SL auto. 999cc of three cylinder fun, wrapped in bacofoil and with interior plastics made from the stuff inside a Thorntons box. Stuffed with toys like lane assist, reversing sensors, tyre pressure monitors, a decent stereo. Lots of road noise and the gearbox is... interesting. So I bo...

Re: Need a basic simpke novile phone.
I've got my own (ongoing) gripe about mobiles at the moment as well. Back in november last year i was due an upgrade. To be honest i didn't really want one as my 1st gen Moto G was still working fine except for one thing - the battery life or lack of! Anyway, i succumbed to all the glitzy sales tal...

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
Hyundai i30 diesel hire car with 2000km on the clock. Dull, competent, quick, economical, uncomfortable, economical. Alloys, which I found surprising for what I assume is a base spec. Glove box includes an aircon vent inside to keep your cheese cool. The interior isn't as offensive as some, it doesn...

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
The City Rover was a last gasp, I think it was just a Tata with a badge. Only driven by old ladies, as far as I can see.

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
Rover Streetwise (a 25 on stilts) loaner while the 75 is getting work done. 31,000 miles, it says. Rough and ready but goes quite well, good view all round, lots of cupholders. Cheap looking interior, "quirky" exterior, uncomfortable seats, gearbox a bit vague, can't read the clock easily, no toys (...

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
We had a Skoda from new - bought from a longstanding Skoda dealer who were ace but didn't fit the VAG profile and lost the franchise to a big glitzy showroom with idiots running it. They went bust and their replacement wasn't much better. High servicing costs and spares too. Hence my aversion to VAG.

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
Actually something I didn't like about the Seat was the handbrake is over towards the passenger seat (scrimping a bit on the RHD conversion I assume) and the lack of anything decent to grab when closing the tailgate.

Re: Chat about cars you've been in lately
16 plated Seat Leon diesel rental. Seems to go rather well (the Mrs driving) and has the least offensive interior of any budget car I've been in recently (no random silver painted bits inside and the instruments aren't garish). Likes - nothing specific, but it's quite a tasteful blue. Dislikes - not...

Re: Who's still active?
Earlier I asked about Jago as he ended up with my Sterling, but I think he had it for sale. I've now searched the DVLA and it's not listed at all. Does that mean it's scrapped?
