I avoid supermarket fuels like the plague. A few years ago our local ASDA had to shell out a lot of money to its customers, after some people had their engines wrecked by an impurity in their fuel. They all still lined up for hours to get about 2 p off a litre earlier in the year though.

BP Ultimate
Has anyone used BP Ultimate lately? I think they may have changed their "recipe". I normally use Shell Fuelsave, as it seems to be what my 820 runs best on (and returns the best MPG on - I suppose it does what it says on the tin). But last night the fuel light was on, so I went to my nearest petrol ...

I passed a mint Nightfire Red Si, with a giffer spec AA badge in Hedge End, near Southampton today. I wasn't in my 800 at the time, I was driving an Irizar coach

The Fastback I had for a bit burnt ATF like it was going out of fashion, that did stink! Routine maintenance? People around here think it's weird if you lift the bonnet to check levels. Somebody over the road with a A4 TDIGTDGTI S-line (I pronounce it "Sline" to wind him up) asked me "Is it broken?"...

I've got plenty of the correct fluid sitting around, as I've just topped up the ATF (no tea involved!). Because I'm weird I always buy in bulk...So I've got Dextron to burn.
