https://i.postimg.cc/pyhb56cC/IMG-20200115-112053.jpg She's back!!! Can't believe the difference, she drives so well now whereas before she was frankly terrifying to drive! The list of work done (and the bill) was pretty extensive: Full respray Sill and door bottoms repaired The dreaded rust on the...

Re: Steering Rack Needed
I think I've found a refurbished one which should be on it's way now however if it's not the right one I'll take you up on that.
Parts were a little tricky to get when I started running the Sterling back in 2006 and the situation in 2019 is as expected a lot worse!

Bit of weekend work and some more pics!
So we finally had a day without rain yesterday so I decided to tackle the blowing exhaust. The really annoying thing is that the entire exhaust is new so I wasn't sure why it was blowing so badly, anyway jacking up the car soon reviled the culprit......the connection between the mid and back section...

She's Home!
After what seemed like an eternity she's finally home! We actually moved 2 years ago whilst the Sterling was in storage so this is the first time she's been sat in the drive. http://m6jkk.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/20180324_132346-e1521900921983.jpg Mechanically she runs and drives now (and is t...

Sounds nice - any pics? Atlantic Blue with lattice alloys? Is this the one I once sent you some washer jets for? Yep, that's the one :D James do you know how the bodyshop intend to repair the sunroof aperture, lead loading, filler/resin, welding? Dave Not sure yet, I'll be taking it round to a coup...

She should be home tomorrow! Have just taxed and insured it and arranged to collect it at lunch time, really looking forward to being behind the wheel of the old girl again!

Re: It's got an MOT again!
Recommisioning a car is a really good feeling. I did it to Johns 2.7 Stirling last year. All suspension points changed, and had previously done a top half engine rebuild. On another note, R511BRW is getting an engine and gearbox rebuild soon. The diff siezed in the original box, and the replacement...

It's got an MOT again!
https://s18.postimg.org/a8slz98ph/Sterling_MOT.jpg For the first time since 2011 the Sterling has an MOT! :D :D :D Even better it has no advisories which is a bonus. So far in recommissioning it's had all new belts (including the cambelt), a complete new exhaust, a new fuel filler, new tyres, brake...

Re: Recommissioning the Sterling!
Went to see the mechanic today to give him a big nudge as it's taking far too long and also to drop off some filters and a replacement fuel filler. Car looks pretty bad however it's pretty much all cosmetic and the structure is still very solid, so that's good! Still starts and runs just fine and th...
