Re: Jeep talk
Too new for me i'm afraid Chris, not that i've got the room or spare funds for it at the moment anyway! You could try putting a For Sale post on : http://www.birtydastards.com/frm/ Good luck with the sale anyway. :D Too new? Firmly set in the past then? I like older stuff but also like new t...
Re: Jeep talk
Anyone want to buy a Jeep?
After a lot of thought I've decided I'm going to sell it.
Whether I replace it depends on work, Brexit and other factors are making it a difficult time at the moment.

Re: Lancaster insurance
I've just done a couple of quotes for comparison. It does seem to be an expensive car to insure. Are you running the coupe as a main car now? No other cars on the road? Early 90s stuff is cheap through Lancaster but only as a second or more car. I had quotes of £4-500 as a main car and £250 as a sec...

Has the housing been off before?
Be careful with the bolts if not.

Re: Original Rover radio/stereo
Just goes to show I sold up too early.
I remember struggling to sell several complete setups of headunit, changer and cable for £40 a few years ago. How times change.
Incidentally the seller shows up as being in Mansfield which is the next town to me. Small world.

Re: Coupe Drivers side Switchpack
I'm sure someone said a while back that the normal 4/5 door switch packs will work in a coupe if you're struggling to find one?
The rear switches are just blanked off in a coupe.

Re: My old Nightfire Red Coupe is still on Google street view in 2019.
I've noticed an oddball on street view for my house. I live on a corner and it seems my road was updated on street view more recently than the crescent that loops off it. This is the view if you look from the crescent on street view. I estimate this to be from 2009 or 10. I'd have to have a proper t...

Re: Lancaster insurance
This is on hold for the time being with having bought the Corsa.
Though that could change if I sell the Jeep.

Re: Another car on the drive
Now the Corsa is here there's no need for me to investigate further. If it's not being used much as before I can accept it's faults.
I've only used it once since getting back from York last week.
See how long it lasts before something ruins this plan.

Definitely built for wafting then if it had no ARB at all.
It's a live axle with coil springs.

Re: Another car on the drive
The guys in the know say while the ride can be improved it will never be like a car with independent suspension. I've decided I'm not chasing it and spending to get nowhere. Then ultimately resenting it. Been there before. The route to work is impossible to improve without doing a huge detour of an ...

Re: Another car on the drive
It's made a massive difference but it's still not a truly pleasant experience driving it on the undulating back roads I need to use for work. Road holding at speed is far better than before. Much above 70 and you could start to feel the car becoming unstable. Up to *** ish and it's now exactly as yo...
