Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Thanks Dave! And by control panel you mean the panel with sliders? Not the box in my second pic?

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

The saga continues... I’ve been busy fixing the doors and the car is starting to look rather ok! Pics will follow! But, I still have a problem with my heater/blower. I got a second hand H/B-controller with sliders intact and after some foul langauge I managed to get it fitted. Heater works great. Bu...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Oh and that reminds me of an old dream, to bring my Austin Seven ”Racer” to Shelsley Walsh to run the hill climb. Or even an imagine lap around Brooklands! Mine is pretty nippy so I think it wouldn’t have been ashame back in the days. https://i.postimg.cc/xJdq3bcP/D014-D041-3-B5-A-4991-8-DC9-13-B821...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

I made a bit of fun. I’m not too much of these things but somehow it felt a bit like a tribute to a manual vitesse. Obviously no one ever will have a clue but that kind of flavours it. 8)

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Excellent tip Dave! This stuff removed old Grease from my cv joint aswell! And that is seriously sticky stuff! I had a cracked gaiter on the coup and the grease was everywhere Thanks to the centrifugal forces.

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Very good Henrik! I always think dark coloured cars reward you more with the effort of cleaning and polishing; they do look shiney. And the wheels are an improvement as well. If you drive an older car it has to look good. Otherwise you're just driving an old car. Spot on Mark! There is still a long...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Very good overall economy for such a large car Dave! 1.4-1.5 tonne and a pretty big V6. The turbo vitesse is no where near that, and the same with the 620ti. Interesting about the variable inlet tracts. It would be fun with a small camera deep inside to see it in action! Still some work remaining on...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

I used an online calculator and it gave 31.99mpg. I know it really drops if going on a stretch in a steady 55-60mph. That would give some 40mpg in return.

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Looks like two different cars Henrik, well done! :D Thanks Dave! Yes and the performance and ride quality is excellent. I did a calculation of the fuel consumption and the trip computer said 9.30l/100km when I refueled but it came back at 8.83l/100km which is even better! And that includes s...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Oooooohhhh!!!!! Bright and shiny! :D Yes it’s ok. It’s pretty difficult to blend the new paint to the old and this is only the front end plus a few inches of the bonnet painted so it takes some rubbing. Not rocket science but some effort is needed. I cut and fitted the new wood too. They are...
