Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Firstly they have been working perfectly since I soldered the tall relay. Just yesterday or the day before that I noticed them failing. I turn them (The headlights ) on with the Switch on the stalk. Sidelights and rear works but the main are not. Sometimes when i click on-off-on-off Swifty 10 times ...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Some fault finding on my headlights. They work quite intermittent, suddenly they go out. Sometimes by pressing the button for the full beam blink they lit up again. This makes my think the problem is in the stalk? But I can’t really understand why they would turn off if they are turned on and workin...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Oh and I’ve lost my headlights again. (Not cut any wires yet...)
But I think it’s the dodgy ”tall relay” Playing up again as it comes and goes. Rhubarb!!

Did some sandblasting of the doors today. Welder being charged up and gloves sorted. Mmm I love it! ;)

Re: Mercedade's '97 Vitesse Lux

I have a small memory from very long ago that I changed a nylon bush in my coupes linkage as one of the arms were flapping around. Not sure really but if I did it’s probably 10years ago. In the end I changed everything as the motor itself was failing. The interval wiping stopped in the middle of the...

Wow! Everything is as new or better! Is this maybe the best looking 800 out there? Very impressive work you are doing!

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

That doesn't look standard Henrik! The two horns below the LH headlight are the normal sevice horns - dont remove them! Are there any markings at all on the bits of kit that look non-standard? The thing is, the loom itself looks very standard. It’s at least 10-15 small wires inside and neatly packe...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

No, certainly not like the UK ones which are two tone horns and are positioned near the left hand headlight and I assume they are in the same place on LHD cars. I suspect that is purely for the aftermarket alarm. Yes, I too have the horns by the left hand headlight. I just want to cut that loom out...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

What do you think about this? Aftermarket alarm? I really want to remove it all... I know there was a strange separate loom attached to the plastic panel covering the under dash fusebox. So, question is really: is the big beeper/horn original?? https://i.postimg.cc/64CNQkVX/160-A288-E-1304-4-FB5-992...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Yes Dave, it really looks great. Thanks for letting me have it. :)

Finally got this piece of old junk out too. Hopefully it will sort my clutch. It isn’t beautiful behind the rubber seal so it looks promising.

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Think of it as therapeutic Henrik! :P That's what i've been telling myself while doing a few things on the Volvo lately anyway! I might have a spare passenger door handle (which would be your drivers door), i'll have a look. If there's a key-barrel in it, i don't think i'll have the key thoug...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

I spent an hour to remove the handle today on the spare drivers door. Fiddling with 30 year old corroded junk is really something I truly dislike! Obviously one of the three cables operating the central lock snapped but finally got the sucker out. The lock barrel itself was seized in the socket and ...
