Well, to be honest, what with one thing and another, not much progress to report. All bits except (the timing) belt are cleaned and replaced. Need to take off the rear cam cover again to replace that snapped bolt and reconnect some random multi-plugs here and there. The corroded brake pipes and new ...

Is there a possibility that the later "Klinger" multi-layer head gasket is not in that kit?

I'd personally want the Klinger gasket as I know it's not the be all (and you have to remove the oil restrictor in the block), but it's an improvement on the original pre-96 spec gasket.

Just looking at cars that carried the Rover badge: SD1 Vitesse - 1982 to 1986 216 Vitesse - 1985 to 1989 827 Vitesse - 1988 to 1992 820 Vitesse (all power, body, "sport"/non-sport varieties) - 1992 to 1999 Pretty sure the 75 V8 was claimed to do 155mph which makes it ultimately faster than the 220 T...

Indeed, welcome.

You might just be the only person on here with a (standard) 180bhp model Vitesse (??)

No nor can we, you sure it isnt just 19,700 miles?
It happens - my father in law's 1996 one is still on the original head gaskets, let alone the original engine; admittedly mileage is more like 100k than 200k.

Must be a reverse "Friday" car..!

Out of interest Sie - if the second T28 doesn't go with the car, how much would you want for it (I recognise it is an unknown quantity)?

Also did it come from a 200SX or a Pulsar?

Cheers,

Malcolm

PS - Nice car!!

Martin - I'm curious how you painted the stereo's cover. I know how railway modellers convincingly replicate varnished teak on models (I'm thinking of people making replicas of a particular company's coaches) and wanted to know if your approach is similar. They normally starts with a yellow-ish base...

Ooh - missed this. Yes, happy birthday and thanks for everything (@ Rich). Despite owning a much despised non-Honda engined variant of the 800, I can't say I feel pushed out by 'Da Man'edge-munt'. Well, apart from that awful night Chris, Mo, Brad and Richard all turned up mob-handed on my doorstep w...
