Re: As if I don’t have too much to do...?

Made a little something. This head is a high power head and I’m aiming to fit it during this summer. The problem is the water outlet branch, it’s actually the same branch as the one where the water enters the engine on the side. The angle of the pipe is however wrong, so I decided to cut it and make...

Re: Le Mans Classic 2022

Wow! Some proper Jags there! Thanks for sharing!
We have a pretty nice show here first weekend in August but I’m going to miss that unfortunately so these pics are welcome.

Re: As if I don’t have too much to do...?

Today was a good day. The floor on the special has been too weak, it’s made out of a thick sheet aluminium with aluminium tubing to get it rigid but it wasn’t. So today We managed to Clamp a 20x20mm steel tube underneath, fixed to the chassis rails holding the body up. The difference is amazing. Ver...

Re: As if I don’t have too much to do...?

Actually Dave it seems I’m selling it to someone in need of one. I had the original plan of just strapping it on the Wall but I was contacted by a guy in the UK in need of one, so a better tribute to send it back to where it came from.

Re: As if I don’t have too much to do...?

So, what’s cooking in the garage..? My very very pleasant trip to Beaulieu market gave me the opportunity to buy a second hand chrome/nickel plated cowl for my Austin. And the last few days/week I’ve been fitting it. The result is excellent. The 90year old cowl is not perfect as it has a few dents a...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

I did look at Pyle and strangely, I love the funky yellow. Don't know about your grills on the rears but mine were starting to discolour (oxidise) and what I have done on both cars is spray them silk black (as opposed to matt grey). I have also removed the cloth sheet that was inside the gri...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)

Following up on Mark/Fastbacks post on speakers. I did build a hardboard rear shelf earlier carrying two 8 inch speakers, and the sound was great but as I use the car so often with the rear seats folded I decided to try something else on the original Spaces. The originals were totally shot and event...

Re: Fastback's cars.

Excellent. If I remember correctly, the Mk1 hatchback speakers were not only a component system as standard but also had a 'bass reflex' arrangement, probably a better set up than the Mk2 variant which just had another set of 5¼" (130mm) co-ax ones. What are you going with, Henrik? True, there is s...

Re: Fastback's cars.

You got me going Mark so I ordered a set of speakers for my Mk1 Vitesse. The rears are perished and at first I made a board with two larger speakers in but it was too tedious work getting it in and out all the time, so looking at replacements for the originals now.

Re: 1989 Rover 827 Vitesse automatic

Thanks Marc, the pic shot from the rear where the Vitesse is next to the MGZS answer a question for me. I fitted Dunlop 205s to my Vitesse but I found them very wide and fat from an aestethic point of view, but it looks just the same on your immaculate Vitesse. So I can rest now! 8) Ah oke. D...

Wow! Impressive stuff there! 8) I’ve worked on all loudspeakers in my coupe and know what’s involved so deeply impressed with that craftmanship! I never took it that far.
