Mildly amusing or not? You decide!

For quite a while now I've noticed the odd R800 number plate on various different cars. Never anything Rover related though. Last weekend while out I spotted a surprising choice of plate on a SEAT. I wished I'd actually taken a photo of it now. It amused me anyway. https://i.postimg.cc/cKy2kDTj/Scre...

Use it as an excuse to order more bits and make the postage more palatable?

Re: Thunderbird 2 & The Green Machine

Is this an 820?

All emissions issues I had with them were lambda/cat related.

Why did it have a new car before?

Re: A hybrid on the driveway!

Nice looking tech, I do like the screen positions in newer cars. You definitely wouldn't be happy with my Jeep based on those fuel figures. That's in the region of 21-22 l/100km if my maths is right! I haven't driven any EV or Hybrid cars yet. They are starting to appear locally but nothing similar ...

Re: Another car on the drive

Erm, so we seem to have agreed to buy this. It's a 2008 2l petrol turbo. It's done 37k and only one owner from new. We've got to wait for the MOT, cambelt and 2 tyres being done before we can have it. Should be a week or so we hope. https://i.postimg.cc/T5nYwk5w/IMG-20190827-190811.jpg https://i.pos...

Re: Another car on the drive

We looked at Cascadas but they're based on a MK6 Astra which neither of us like. We looked at 3 cars yesterday, a MK4 which wasnt as clean as the owner made out and felt very old to drive. So they're out. We then looked at 2 MK5s. One which was in very poor condition for the money and the other whic...

Fair enough.

I'm still looking at convertibles, going to look at an old Astra on Saturday all being well.

Re: 1989 Rover 827 Vitesse automatic

Possibly, it went through several hands in a short space.

Alex had it before me, the Steven in Scotland after. Then Fraser? I forget now.

It caused a bit of trouble in the past.

Here's a random pic from when I had it

Re: Another car on the drive

It's doing 13 average, it doesn't seem to improve much/if any on a run either. My 6.2L V8 Ford F150 Raptor (400+bhp) does at least that much :) I'll get round to a thread on it some time..... http://i.postimg.cc/bJdjF7cb/20190811-122535.jpg Seems I need to move? Re: 1989 Rover 827 Vitesse automatic

Going on personal experience from many repeated attempts in several cars a manual 827 (driven properly) is quicker than an auto off the line, especially as it gets to the end of second gear into third. Not lots, a car length or two maybe but definitely quicker in my opinion. Granted there's opportun...

Re: Another car on the drive

I've just been in contact with the dealer in the US that I had the rear ARB from. He's suggesting I upgrade the shocks before the ARB. I'm with you, there's published figures that say there's not much in it for the standard front bars. One hollow, one solid. The uprated one does make a difference bu...
