Re: Hello. >>> 1993 Rover 820i

Hi Mike, I'm afraid a Mk1 haynes manual won't be much help for a T series Mk2. Not that the Haynes book of lies for a Mk2 is all that good either.... Follow the link on this thread - http://rover800.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9417 - and you will be able to download copies of the factory worksh...

Is there a Torsen in the KV6 box? The code says there should be.

Re: Hello. >>> 1993 Rover 820i

The fuse board can cause plenty of problems, but not so many with the engine. I'd be looking at the throttle body - take it off and give it a good clean in solvent or carb cleaner, taking care to clear the tiny idle bypass port. The throttle position switch could also be suspect, as could the pipe l...

Re: Changes to the site

I quite like the changes. Much nicer to look at than the previous facelift I must say.

As a suggestion, how about a "shoutbox" as I think they are called on the index page. That would keep some of the hellos and how-are-yous out of the more focused threads.

I'm not is I've missed something here, but all turbo engines had cutaways for the inlet valves on the pistons.

Re: Recommissioning the Sterling!

The chap who did mine is in Shipdham, near Dereham. I think that James is located way over the "wrong" side of Norwich, so it may be too much of a trek to bring the car for repairs. As dave mentioned, I can't speak highly enough of the work done and the chap is quite sympathetic towards 800s too. I ...

Re: Photo Hosting

Why are some people still using PB (like me) without issue and some people are having problems?

I've seem this on other forums too, with a split between people being unable to link while others can. Is it down to usage levels?

I don't think any Montegos had an actual Rover badge on them. They had the Austin Rover chevrons, then a badge that was the same shape as the Rover one, but with something like a cross on it.

and the modern Chinese MG products.... Plenty of evidence that the SAIC MG cars are setting new standards for poor quality and reliability issues. I reckon French cars get a bad press because they are often the vehicle of choice for people who don't car about cars and have little mechanical sympathy.

I see what you mean there. Maybe for sudden throttle changes MEMS follows a pre-programmed map rather than relying on "live" information from sensors.

It's probably the restriction from the jammed turbine that's bogging you down. You shouldn't be getting extra fuel until the ECU senses boost.

I'll PM you my number, glad to offer any help I can.
