Re: 800 Owners Club
And further more; if this is the type of negative and lackluster mentality of any club (like what I previously mentioned) then I don't need or would be willing to be apart of it. The good I've contributed to this forum (including finding parts like brand new oe spec scuttle panels for members) far o...

Re: 800 Owners Club
"Dave Smart could have done the courtesy of making and marketing the club outside social media. Because really, who searches for specific websites these days when everyone has 'Apps' on their Smart phones?? It does not surprise me I didn't hear about the new club. Dave Smart has never contacted on ...

Re: 800 Owners Club
Dave, its not that I think of you so lowly from a personal perspective - that's abit too extreme really. My experience of the knowledge on the facebook groups dedicated to these cars, is the opposite to what you suggest, or what your own experience of these groups may well be. However I wish you all...

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
Apologies for confusion. I've bought fuel injector cleaner (or system cleaner) and meths seperately.
Used to get squealing sounds from the engine, until only recently.
Made me wonder if the belt is lose?

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
Funnily enough Dave I just bought some fuel system cleaner with meths yesterday. I understand that you have to add it before topping up the fuel tank? Might be wrong. I know you mentioned this and adding ATF before. I looked for synthetic ATF on Monday. I could only see mineral on the shop shelves (...

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
Having pondered what to do about the coupe yesterday (and not done anything work wise on it yesterday evening) I thought I would see if it starts this morning. The battery was fully charged when I took the charger off yesterday. The car started first turn of the key (as it used to do regularly) I've...

Re: R24 AAB - Vitesse Coupe - immaculate - 189,900 miles
My coupe has both an engine oil leak and a power steering fluid leak ever since I've driven the car. The first few months owning, the coupe was parked up with a piece of plywood underneath it. Checking for such leaks whilst keeping the floor clean. Oddly enough, until last years MOT (when the ...

Re: Coupé Spares - free to good home!
The thread has been live for over a year Charles, if they're going to do it they'd best hurry! :D I've got 15" Mk1 Prestige (x4) alloys advertised on Ebay. The four that I had refurbished have been on ebay well over 2 years with currently 3 watchers. I've already reduced the price. I don't t...

If somebody from the FB groups or club have read this, they could put a message out on their websites, or groups.. just a thought.scoobyh123 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:33 amBumpety-bumpety-bump-bump-bump!
Still got a pair of coupe doors, seem to be in reasonable condition still. Maybe a few other bits as well...........

Re: 800 Owners Club
A blame game - i think there might be more to that than you think Charles. Just my opinion based on observations but it seems people who were once active members on here no longer visit the forum since the advent of Alex's club. Faceache has a lot to answer for, a lot of people see it as some kind ...

Re: 800 Owners Club
I read this at the time Dave, but I took the conversation there as ideas for a club and nothing concrete. I hadn't taken the time to read to the last post. I don't wish to sound doom and gloom, and I don't want to undermine the efforts of either club. These are commendable efforts by both, even if n...

Re: 800 Owners Club
Dave, This is the very point that I've made in a somewhat veiled way. There is no communication from the clubs outside of Facebook. Right? Until you mentioned that there was a new 'Rover 800 Club' (which conveniently has the word owners left out of the title) I had no idea, none whatsoever that ther...

Re: 800 Owners Club
I'm trying to put a brave things on things Chris :) With my woes with the coupe and lack of interaction on the forum it's difficult to be encouraged. There's only really Dave keeping the forum alive and Daves given me far more help and advice for nothing than anybody. In comparison I've heard virtua...

800 Owners Club
Ive been thinking about my membership of the 'Rover 800 Owners Club' for a while. This morning I thought I would write in a new thread about my own thoughts/experience. I didn't want to revive an old thread because the last topic thread posted last year about the club vs forum was somewhat controver...
