Re: Shaun's Vitesse
Short test drive and everything back to normal, just hope there wont be any implications using a solid mount I don't see why there should be any issues. I could never fathom why Rover used the rubber mount. It's not as if it contains a "hotwire" flow meter that could be damaged by vibration, unless...

Re: Heater Blower fan resistor
Tom, glad to hear that my posts on the 820 heater fan were useful to you. From memory, the two wire wound resistances were good so I bypassed the beryllium metal bit on the fan plate with a 121c temperature resistant fuse. That is to say, if the temperature rises above 121c, the fuse will blow. I n...

Correct!
That chamfer should stop roughly level with the chrome trim then flatten out to cover the leading edge of the bumper.

Re: CAR iNSURANCE Recommendations/tips or advice
As such, all the boy racer brigade will lust after the Cupra R or similar and when they achieve their object of desire, drive it like they stole it until they crash it. This all adds to the statistics the insurers use. It's reminded me of a Clio 1.2 i bought once with the idea of using it while i d...

Re: CAR iNSURANCE Recommendations/tips or advice
Don't get me started. I've insured my volvos with Admiral for 9 years. This year they bumped up the renewal by nearly £50. A quick fiddle on a comparison site showed me I could save £200 by moving to Tesco of all people. I called Admiral and was put through to the retentions team. "Ah yes Sir, you'v...

Yes mark it is Longbridge factory or what is left of it now in the Background, and yes right again on 800's being made at Cowley along with 600 and 75, Montego and Maestro and if we can mention SD1 on here that one as well I like to think that Gentlemen's cars were made at Cowley and the Ladies at ...

Re: Just got a rover 211 (bubble)
For 200/25 stuff, I'd recommend a visit to rovertech.net That forum is more focused on tunng, but there is a wealth of knowledge for the bubble Rover as the members on there keep on finding ways of cramming bigger engines in. Also there are normally people selling "standard" parts like wheels after ...

Re: Alucard7002 - Mk2b 820Si Fastback - Pic Heavy!
It's a bit like putting a modern stereo in, double-DIN with a motorised screen, built in sat-nav, bluetooth and handsfree phone operation and umpteen other things that are now commonplace. All very nice for the features but totally out of place in a 20+ year old car, unless you were to make everyth...

I was struggling to understand why you had gone to the trouble of having the new plates made. Then I saw them on the car... I can't believe the difference the older font makes! Did you get them made locally or online? The guy I normally use has become very pernickety about legal stuff. Ironic as I ...

This is all great stuff, Nitro. They are Rover/ BL friendly I find this is something you still have to watch for when selecting anywhere to carry out work on our cars. BL and it many relatives have become such a joke in so many peoples eyes that it's sometimes hard to be taken seriously when you tur...
