Re: Fastback's cars.
Aluminium work hardens very quickly so if you are going to do repeated operations, you'll need to anneal it in between them and i'd advise annealing it before you start. https://makeitfrommetal.com/how-to-anneal-aluminum-the-beginners-guide/ That tells you a fairly easy/foolproof method, the big thi...

Re: Fastback's cars.
Excellent news Mark, your perseverance paid off! Easy to see the differences between the 2.0 and 2.5 exhausts when they're side by side.

Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Limited (1998)
It doesn't have one of those silly emissions timers on it i suppose? They count down from 100k miles (160k km) and 10 years simultaneously and the first to reach zero triggers an EML to get the Lambda sensor(s) renewed and the light put out.

Welcome back Richard! I hope your absence wasn't due to anything serious?
How is everything for you with the current Israel/Palestine situation, anything impacting on you as a result?

Re: The other Lodein's cars
Nice choice of Jags if you won the Lottery! Totally agree on all except the XJ81, think i'd go for a Series I XJ12 or maybe a Series II XJ12C but life would be boring if we all made the same choices! I'd almost certainly have an XJ40 3.6 Sovereign though as i have a soft spot for those.

Re: The other Lodein's cars
Some great variety in the cars there Stephan, not many Matra Bagheeras left now! Based if memory serves on what you would know as the Simca 1308 (i think) and we knew as the Chrysler/Talbot Alpine with the same 1442cc engine, 3 front seats and no rear seats! You'd have to be fond of your passengers ...

Normally for me Mark, when one door shuts another one slams in my face!
Glad to hear you've found an alternative supplier and one amenable to working with your and the original design.
Fingers crossed it all comes good!

Re: Fastback's cars.
For the MoT, i'd fit anything to get it through. I know on the 75 with the 2.5 KV6, it has the cat at the front (integral with the front pipe/downpipes) and then only the back box. If the back box goes on a factory system, a service joint has to be bought and the original back box cut off and the ne...

Re: Fastback's cars.
Well as promised here is the exhaust update: There is no update  . The chap looked at the pictures and suddenly it's all got 'very complicated'. I just hope he doesn't give up on it. Surely there must somebody, somewhere who can make an exhaust? What's your welding like Mark? I'm thinking may...

And a Sunbeam. The similarities are definitely there. https://i.postimg.cc/crG8Hn3G/Sunbeam.jpg First 'Bond' car y'know. Excellent pics Marc! Had to take a second look at the Auto-Union though, i thought it was a Sunbeam Alpine at first glance! ;) :D Makes you wonder which design came first..........

Re: 1982 Rover 3500 V8 Vanden Plas automatic.
Nice job, it is a bit scarey that moment you have to drill the first hole, no going back and it has to be correct. Looks good I forgot that bit - i fitted a similar spoiler to my Cavalier Coupe (think Manta B) about 35 years ago. Took a big sheet of paper (like brown wrapping paper from a roll) whe...

Re: 1989 Rover 827 Vitesse automatic
Thanks! Glad you like them. :) Ah yeah, I know what you mean. It also looks like s little Ford Thunderbird I think. A very early T-Bird, yes - i believe the Sunbeam Alpine was styled by someone influenced by the early T-Birds, i read something somewhere once about that! http://dealeraccelerate-all....
