OPS Autos in Berkshire

I meant to do this ages ago. OPS Autos, which I bought my car from were great. They are a one man band (trader, rather than a dealer) run by a chap called Sandy. Top service. He was very honest throughout, and the car was exactly how he described it over the phone to me. After money had changed hand...

Re: 1998 820 Sterling

Cheers Marc. Well look out for my car - chances are I won't be very far away from it! New indicator and headlight are now in. An oil change is up next, and when I have the funds a full service (minus the oil of course) because it's in real need of one. The air filter looks almost new, though. I was ...

Re: 1998 820 Sterling

Somebody loved it once! Up until 2008 it was serviced at Rover main dealers, and there's still smears of old polish here and there. I think the last owner used it as a cheap run about and didn't care that much about it, going by the scraps and chips all over it...That will be sorted though ;) But ye...

1998 820 Sterling

I picked my Sterling up on Saturday, and the work to remedy it's niggles has started. http://i61.tinypic.com/r1efzm.jpg It got me home without missing a beat and since then I've put a few more miles on the clock and she's continued to run great. Even when I had to use about half a can of de-icer thi...

Re: New 820 Sterling owner

Thanks Rovercoup. I'm crossing my fingers that the boot will just need a new seal...chances are I won't be that lucky. Oh, a moisture trap is on the list for sure!

Re: New 820 Sterling owner

Thanks Kate. :) I love the colour combo, it's just what I've been looking for. It's great to have help and support - any is greatly appreciated. I can really see how they're addictive. I've already found myself looking at base spec cars for sale cheaply, and thinking to myself, "Is it cruel to use t...

New 820 Sterling owner

Hi everyone, I've long admired Rover Sterlings from afar. I've wanted one since I was about 12, and last weekend I made that dream a reality and put down a deposit on a 1998 Rover 820 Sterling auto. This Saturday I go up and collect it - an understatement to say I'm over excited. It's not you're ave...
