Site shop

Hi all!!! I've been thinking for a long time that there isn't a shop, online or otherwise that caters for the 800 series. I've also been looking for a business opportunity. The two things sort of came together in my mind and i thought why not offer other members of the 800 forum a one stop 800 shop?...

Nice one Kev, much appreciated!! Much of my ability to get there depends on the benefits agency as i'm off work, long term sick due to an ankle problem that means i can't walk very far, and they owe me some serious money at the moment!! It's holding up the MOT and tax as you may have guessed from my...

Hi Brad,
i was offered this one back in June, or at least the same pic was used!! The description ties up, but there was no MOT on it at the time. I made a tentative offer of £300 and got turned down, so you did well to get it for £200 with a long test!!
Good luck with it!!

You're right Benny, those are both major causes! But don't forget a year ago fuel was at an all time high, think back 2 or 3 years and it was closer to 90p a litre. I know 10p a litre doesn't sound a lot but with a 70 litre tank, that's £7 a fill difference!! Whichever way you look at it, we're bei...

The golden goose is dead!!

Well they've finally managed to do it, they've killed the goose that lays the golden egg!! By continually screwing the financial thumbscrews ever tighter, they have shot themselves in the foot, both feet actually!! Not only has the income declined, but that was after increasing their profit share of...

Just to put your minds at rest, i don't have a Subaru!! Had one of those 1800 GLF 4x4 estate things they did once, not for long though!! The Scooby nickname came about when i was doing contract work, long hours and early starts!! I would ask my boss round about 7am to stop at the next shop or garage...

T series HGF

Just to pick up on a point about the T series, the last one i had was a 420 GSi that had covered inter-galactic mileage (238, 000 miles or to the moon!) and that blew the head gasket in my ownership. In amongst the brief history that came with the car was an invoice for doing the head gasket and als...

Hi Kyle, as soon as i work out how to post pics i'll do that for you and anyone else that wants to do similar!! In the meantime when i get 5 mins i'll do a write up in the technical bit but that will be later today as i'm still going through this cooling fan problem!! I'm not normally beaten on car ...

Wow!! That IS beautiful!! Had a couple of Ambassadors in my time, both of them with the 2.0 O series engine but always wanted the 2.2!! Sadly never fitted to the Ambassador, can't for the life of me think why!! I'm assuming you did all the work yourself on it and knowing how spectacularly BL cars us...

Look a like...

Reading about the woman and her Mk4 Golf in Safeways car park reminded me of not long after i'd just got my first SD1 V8. The previous owner had resprayed it a horrible orange colour from it's original metallic gold. In the twilight, i'd parked in a car park that was lit by sodium lighting, that hor...

Thanks for the welcome guys!! I've got some photos somewhere, certainly of the 820 and i think there may be one or two of the Mk1 Sterling. From memory, the Sterlings reg was F956 HDG but i'm not sure on that. I know the 820 was D859 SGO and my current Sterling is L177 JUR, registered in 1994. Think...

Hi all!! Loooooongest intro piece ever???

Hi everybody on here!! I've been a Rover enthusiast since the age of 13 when my brother got his first P6BS. It was a white one with the black vinyl Webasto full length roof but the really special bit was that it had been to the Special Tuning centre at Abingdon (when we had a motor industry!!!). All...
