Hi - Thought it was about time I joined having read the forum for a short while. My Rover history really kicked off when I was 21 and I bought a 3 year old 820si with 115k miles on and I sold it on when it was 5 years old with 198k.....It was replaced by a 2 year old Vitesse which had done 98k which in turn was sold when it 4 years sold with 150k - Neither car had any problems that I recall apart from a clutch replaced on the Si ....I was impressed. As a hobby car, I purchased a few years ago an 825 Sterling on a T plate, engine promptly self destructed and I replaced the lump with a low mileage KV6 (13k)....since when it has sat in a barn - Next weekend I will pay my annual visit to run the car for a while.....one day it will be returned to mint.....In addition to the 800's, have had two 600's (one purchased new), 1 75 and 2 ZT's - Nowdays drive a Saab bought new last year (must be jinxed!) but always find myself wishing I had a car that appealed like the original 820Si (L reg RIP) ......my friends think I am mad..... - Look forward to contributing to the forum.

Hello and welcome. KV6s aren't renowned for being reliable but the T series are great engines. My 1996 800i got to 303,000 miles before some DVLA snoop spotted it sitting on the road with no tax. One clamp and a sticker later she was towed. Luckily I got the custom SS exhaust, BK299s and sundry bits off before she went.
I now have just two 800s, a 1991 special edition on my driveway and a 1991 820 turbo as my weekend car (I don't drive to work any more).

Hi and welcome, i am realtively new here also but have found it a great forum with lots of reading and interesting advice.
I had a very similar rover history to yours MK1 827 sli then a Vitesse before moving on to others and like yourself recently a Saab 95 est now sold though and proud owner of a 1994 2.0 T coupe.

Take time to look through the board it is very helpful.

Welcome to the site. My first 800 was an L reg 820si when I was 19/20. Still missed as it was a fantastic car until it left me stranded in Tesco car park one winter evening. Having moved to 200 coupes for a few years it was a'94 Vitesse sport that brought me back to the 800.

Hello and welcome to the site. Our old girl has just gone past 225,000 miles if you are willing to get your hand dirty you can fix any think on this old cars with a big hammer As most weekend I have got the rover in bits . Any why good luck with the old girl.
