New Vitesse owner.

Post by JayW » Wed May 24, 2017 12:01 pm

Hi from Cornwall!

Just bought an 820 Vitesse to add to my collection of random motors.

(the same car introduced by MattB a few posts down)

Always like to have a forum on hand with every new purchase! Will add photos once I've collected it tonight!

Jay.

Here's the new toy:

And of course:

Aside from some minor external cosmetics and the usual interior niggles it's actually in really good condition. That's no surprise really with just 46k miles and having spent the vast majority of the 21st century off the road.

I will need to do some brain picking on a couple of issues though, I haven't had an 800 since 2001!

Nice! What are the problems you mention on it?
Cheers,

Thanks for the welcomes!

So far I've managed to fix everything but one fault:

The airbag lamp. The SRS lamp appears to be made up of 2 bulbs. When I fire it up, the SRS clearly appears to self-test for a few seconds, then it remains lit with the righthand one of its 2 bulbs flashing. It continues flashing for 10/15 minutes, then goes solidly on.

I'm hoping that the single lamp being made up of 2 bulbs (with one flashing) is a clever way of helping identify the fault... I can see no other reason for having 2 bulbs!

Other than that, I'm enjoying the car.

Thanks!

Could be any number of things causing the SRS light, they're a pain in the neck (sometimes literally!) and to be honest i tend to avoid the things. However you can find quite a bit of information here :

It's about 10th in the list but should help point you in the right direction.
Cheers,
Dave
