Hello at Last!

Post by scotty2 » Mon Nov 12, 2018 1:49 pm

Had quite a bit of difficulty registering but it has now let me in!

I have two 800s. One will be known here as "The Green Machine" which is just about to emerge from a respray. The other is a 1997 saloon known as "Thunderbird 2" (saw it on the numberplate when washing it).

Green Machine has had a new windscreen, engine mount and clutch master (was a pig to bleed to get to work...), a fresh MOT and is just being resprayed. LPG is very good. Don't notice it.

TB2 has just failed MOT on CV boot and "emissions". I have been advised that it is the cat. Now all was running well until I had to do a few bump starts due to alternator issues (wasn't charging but had no warning light) but I'll try that first. It's had a low rumble from the belts since I bought it so will be getting a cambelt kit and water pump. It has just had an alternator. Is there a link on the site here to find part numbers as I have had a bit of difficulty getting the right bits? Power steering pump for non AC T16 for one.

Anyway Hello, and I hope to remain an 800 owner for some time.

Welcome aboard Scotty! One of the L-series engines PAS pumps fits the T-series :

As for the green beastie, you've got a very good car there! You've fixed the major "problem" it had in as much as it was "cosmetically challenged", other than that a great car! :D

As other have said, welcome aboard! Glad the green beastie is doing well, I look forward to post-respary photo's. I do miss it now and then but had to sell at the time unfortunately.
