It was a rear wheel, and the spare was a space saver. So I wouldn't have known what was what.

I get where you're coming from but my gut told me to leave it.

I was just after a 4x4 of some sort and it was local. Ended up fitting snow tyres to my 205 instead and that's been fine. So may not bother at all now.

You need an R8 donor car to put a T16 into a Mk3 200.

Not sure what an R8 is (unless you mean an Audi!) could you explain?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm told that i was a bit daft for buying an 800 as a donor, but to be honest i had a whale of a time for two months and i know the engine is pretty sound.

Will an R8 have all the bits i need (that everyone keeps telling me can only be found on a 220 Tomcat?

The 220 Tomcat IS an R8 - as are the 400 and cabrio versions!

The 200/400 make better donors because of the engine mounts and so one - you'd have to find them elsewhere if you use the Vitesse. Also the Vitesse will have different gearing so the gearing will be too low when fitted to your R3.

As said previously, the R3 and R8 chassis really struggles with the extra power and weight of the T series turbo. You'd be better off just keeping both cars as they are.
