Hi all. Having driven volvo 200 and 700 series for the last 15 years i really needed a change. So here it is a 1999 820 si ,totally standard(i think) but kitted out with an LPG system.
Love driving it........that was until today when the clutch lost all hydraulic pressure but hey ho im sure it will be sorted before the weekend. Regards Minty

Hello and welcome to the site. Nice looking car there should be nice and reilable with the n/a t series engine. Your si wouldnt have left the factory with those alloys as standard. Maybe a dealer fit option or fitted and a later date by another owner

The usual culprit (assuming you have a manual) is the clutch slave cylinder, an easy fix.

Hi all. Thanks for the warm welcome from you. You were right Simon, a nice new shiny slave cylinder fitted and we have pressure again

. And rosshenocsr yep i just found a receipt for the 4 alloys that were fitted 3 years ago. Would you happen to know if alloys were fitted as standard and if so which would be the original type??. Thanks once again for all the warm welcomes, Minty

An 820Si would have had 15" 7 spoke alloys fitted as standard like these. The spare was a 15" steel. Tyres were 195/65 VR 15:

However, as a NO COST OPTION, a new owner could specify the 15" alloys that your car has. These are known as "Prestige" alloy wheels. The same size tyre was fitted as the standard 7 spoke alloy.

The Prestige alloy was also available as an accessory so, as has been said, an owner could have had the wheels fitted at a later date. They weren't cheap!

the Prestige wheels look much better than the standard si wheel though. My Rover 623 has them. (was thicking of upgrading them to 16inch ones as found on coupes but i dont like spending money on it as i dont really like driving the 600. Dont get me wrong its very very reilable but not really interesting. Looks nice though.

Welcome to the 800 Forum, nice example of a late 800. Just for interest (if you're interested in such things) your car is one of the last built (about 300 from the end) in September 1998. And although classed as "Si" on the log book all 1998 builds (classed as 1999 model year) were actually "SLi" specification as denoted by the letter "Z" in your chassis code.
