Top Gear episode 1986

Ladies, Gentleman and Rover owners, lend me your ears (or in this case, eyes)

I am looking for a copy of the 1986 episode of Top Gear which features the review of the Mk1 Rover Sterling and the Birmingham Grand Prix.

I can almost safely bet real money that nobody will have this.

Bearing in mind the minuscule possibility of someone having kept this particular episode on VHS for the last 27 years, have you considered contacting the current Top Gear production team? I don't imagine they'll be able to do much, but they might - might - have details of someone who has maintained an archive?

I know people seem to have loads from 1989 onwards, but 1986 seems even more....specialist.

Ade - No, I'll only do that if I am almost sure that this video is nowhere to be found on the internet, the thing, is almost certain its floating about somewhere, and I say this because I given a copy of about 4 complete 1989 Top Gear programmes that someone downloaded for me that featured Rover 800s. There is a lot of very obscure stuff out there, its just a matter of finding them.

Mal - I have searched through Youtube and I did find a clip of the Birmingham Grand Prix from 1986, but on the finishing titles it showed a clip of the mk1 Rover Sterling D??? BRW which I assume means it had been tested by Top Gear, I'm just interested to see the full test as I have seen clips of it around including a short peice of it when Clarkson was testing the new mk2 800.
