If you'll pardon the expression. The wood on the dashboard on my 95' 827i has seen better days, the worse bit is the slab above the dashboard shelf. Has anyone got any non-milky wood going spare?
cheers
Ryan

Ive re done all mine with burr walnut fablon, i rubbed the old wood down for a good key, then stuck the fablon on and used a hairdryer to pull it round the corners, I'm going to lacquer it soon, but it does look pretty good already.

Re: I need wood...
I think i might have one but just so you know, it's the later sort of "caramel" coloured wood as on the post '96 cars so might look out of place if the rest of your wood is the "proper" dark stuff on the early Mk2s.
I keep trying to get the time (and courage!) to sand down one of the milky bits i have to re-stain and re-lacquer it as an experiment/potential repair. I've wondered about using something like cellulose thinners to take the lacquer off but don't know enough about wood and staining/lacquering/treating it to make a decision. Tried searching online but not knowing what i'm searching for makes it harder to find!
If i can find the bit i think i have and it's suitable for you i'd suggest a swap, my good one for your milky one so i will at least have a "spare" milky bit to try some methods on. I'll have a look tomorrow when i go round to my garage.

Re: I need wood...
keep me posted Dave, I've emailed a few breakers on ebay too so if I get a decent one, you're welcome to my old ones. It is the earlier dark wood unfortunately which makes it a bit more difficult.
