Hello,
The PGM-FI light is on and warning me it is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. It is an 827 (1995) engine.
The part number is WAV10004 but is unavailable.
Would anyone have a working one to sell as I'd like to get rid of the warning light on the dashboard.
The valve still seems to be working so maybe the sensor is just faulty but I guess more likely there is a fault on the unit somewhere.
Picture of the part is here
many thanks
eric

Couple of things to check first Eric
How coked up was the wire mesh filter, they can get pretty bad and block up
Is the vacuum pipe to the unit blocked?
are the electrical connectors clean
and I'll have to confirm but I'm sure these run off a valve in the black box of tricks on the bulk head, which is more likely to pack up.
Do you have a workshop manual?

Thanks, will ask mechanic to check, I don't have facilities or competence to check myself.
I downloaded the manual so will take a look and explore further.
Cheers eric

Re: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve 827
Eric - Dave is right, the EGR valve is controlled by a vacuum solenoid valve in the Control Box (black box of tricks on the bulkhead) and in all honesty they're usually fairly reliable on the 2.7 - apart from the mesh coking up (which could indicate other problems but let's not jump the gun yet) the usual cause of problems is a split, perished or disconnected vacuum pipe somewhere along the lines.
Something you could try (as it's already off the car) is using some carb cleaner (aerosol, about a fiver from most motor factors/parts shops) and then operating it by hand to ensure it's moving freely and not clogged up.
If all seems well refit it and try it but before you try it, pull fuse "S" for a few minutes from the underbonnet fusebox - i'll post a pic tomorrow of which one it is. This resets the ECU memories and clears the fault codes.
Then give it a test run and check again - hopefully the fault should be gone then.
