There you go Tracy :

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ste ... h+kit,1993

If i've done the link right, that should go to the right page and give the choice of 4 or 5 different complete clutch kits ranging from £95 to £133 plus "Shipping & Handling" or P&P as we know it better.

Possibly you could get it in the UK as well but to be fair, many things are now becoming "Unobtainium" here.  :D
Cheers,
Dave

YOu're welcome - i just tried a few of the "usual suspects" in this country to no avail so seems Rock Auto is probably the best (only?) choice.

Good luck with it! :D

I remember fitting that clutch one weekend in an aircraft maintenance hangar, by myself, using just trolley jacks and axle stands. It would have been much easier with a ramp and an assistant :)

Sorry I sound stupid but I'm not sure which one to order.

Just to make it clear Tracy, any and all that appear when you click the link i gave will fit - the first time i used Rock Autos site i was faced with exactly the same problem as you so you're not sounding (or being) stupid at all.

However, the cheapest one at about £95 (Brute Power brand) doesn't come with a new pilot bearing. For completeness, id' suggest one of the other brands as they all come with a pilot bearing.

All the kits come with the clutch cover/pressure plate, disc/driven plate and release bearing/thrust bearing and an alignment tool. The Brute Power kit is the only one that doesn't have the pilot bearing, all other kits have this.

I think the reason why the site can be a bit daunting/conwildering/befusing is because being American, they tend to want more choice than we settle for. As such, they give more choice which for us, used to one or if we're lucky, two possible brands when we go to our local parts factors can confuse and bewilder us immensely!

I only twigged onto this a few months ago while in my local parts place and an American was in front of me ordering something and asking if they had more choice of brands - the American was just as confused by our lack of brand choice as we are by the large range of choice on USA sites!

Last thing i ordered from Rock Auto was Customs Duty paid at the time of ordering so it went straight trhough Customs here. When you place the order, double check this (it should happen anyway) so you don't get a phone call or whatever from Customs asking you to pay import duty.

Hope that makes things a bit clearer! :D
Cheers,
Dave

Hi
Thanks for that it now makes sense. As for customs I used to do customs import clearances so I can do that if that is needed and I will check with them.
Thanks again for your help

This is a copy of the shipping email i had from the Tracy, can't find the invoice they sent (think i've stored it in a different email folder! ) but as you can see if you look under where it says "Standard Motor etc" it clearly says "Customs charges prepaid".
I would imagine yours will be the same so doubt you'll have to worry!

You're welcome Tracy - let us know how the fitting goes! :D

As for the radio, are you looking for a period-correct radio or something that makes the right noises and looks sort of ok? :?:

That opens the field up a lot Tracy - here's a few on ebay i found, many are Rover OE units, some come with codes, the cheaper ones don't seem to but usually the code can be found free or very cheap online.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... 5573.m1684

There are also some aftermarket units on there and some brand new ones for not much more. Probably best to have a good look through and decide what you/he really want and go from there. :D
Cheers,
Dave
