SRS Controller
Hello
I have the problem with the SRS light staying on - my own fault because I reconnected the battery with keys in the ignition. Very annoying.
Anyway, wonder if someone has a replacement (working!) unit?
Its a 94 827 Coupe automatic, and the SRS unit has this number moulded into the top:
YWC10151
By the way - its the yellow box mounted behind the radio, on top of the tunnel. Easily removed with two fasteners.
PM me if you are able to help.
Thanks
Tim.

Thanks for the replies. There were several variations, so its probably important that the part numbers match exactly..
Its an appalling design flaw that reconnecting the battery with the keys in the ignition is all it takes to send the unit into a permanent error state.
Back in the days when there were Rover dealers, it was possible to have them reset ( it was suggested the procedure was similar to a landrover defender and cost around £100!) No idea how to find anyone with the equipment to do it now though - hence looking for a replacement unit.
Cheers

Probably. The difference is 1 or 2 airbags, and also pre-post 96.Freewheel wrote:Are 2.0 and 2.7's the same part no?
Not me. Matt in Telford (trades as e.b.a.y. surplus on ebay) may have one. Mo has his phone number.whitelion58 wrote:Nobody out there got one??

pre 96 are much larger, I'm not sure the unit differs for 1/2 airbags, it may only be the loom, but Rich may know better than me?richard moss wrote:Probably. The difference is 1 or 2 airbags, and also pre-post 96.Freewheel wrote:Are 2.0 and 2.7's the same part no?

just to close this one - I got a replacement unit from another 94 827 twin air bag. Disconnected battery, keys NOT in the ignition. Fitted it, hooked up the battery and all is perfect again. Good result.
