Urgent help! Gear selector cable required
HELP! After 10 months standing and new engine/gearbox my car started . But the gear shift is VERY stiff. Have tried lubing it but not worked, looks like I need a replacement. I know this should be in parts wanted (ie has anybody got a gear selector cable for a '96 on KV6 auto, part no. UCV 100490) or any ideas how to free it up. After having got so far I don't want to (that is can't afford to) fail now !

If you can remove the cable, you may be able to get some oil down inside the sleeve to free it off. I've managed to free off a seized handbrake cable that way before, as well as bonnet release cables.
