Boot spoiler (saloon) - possibly Tomcat

Bit of a confusing title I know, but I picked up this spoiler about 6 years ago - never got further than offering it up. It's a genuine Rover part, believed to be from a Tomcat, but was fitted to a Mk1 800 before (which I how I ended up getting it)





It's currently sprayed BRG (badly).

Anyone want it? Free to collector (south Manchester)

does look like a 200 turbo coupe spoiler, looking at the side fitment on the 800, it should have stayed on the 220, does it have a centre brake light.

Nope, no brake light.

It physically fits the 800 saloon perfectly, and when it's the right colour it's better





It'll be getting binned unless I can find a taker - got a house move coming up and I'm not taking it with me.

That spoiler looks similar to the TWR/Tickford rear spoiler, there were several designs knocking about when they were developing the Tickford, maybe it's one of those although with the rounded shape of it the 220 (or maybe 420) might be a more likely donor.
Still looks good on the Mk1 800 though!

Completely unrelated but what suspension is that car in the photos on?

That's my old Mk1 827 SLi with a manual gearbox (now departed).

I bought it pretty much as it looked, with a full stainless exhaust, the 17" alloys and lowered suspension. It was on red Konis all round - I believe the car ended up with forum member Alex who was scrapping the car, but did at one point suggest he was going to keep the suspension parts. I'm not sure he ever did though (and he's rarely round these parts these days)

I may well be wrong on this Adrian but i think Dusan (Alucard7002) has the red Konis on his green 820 fastback now after they spent time on his "Shitesse" (the L reg manual 827 Sterling fastback) before he scrapped it. The "Shitesse" i believe came from Alex so it's entirely possible that the red Konis were fitted on it by him using your old one as a donor.

Speaking of those Koni's I need to ask Koni if they still offer a rebuild service. They are getting very tired on the bump damping and one of the rears feels like it's losing some of the rebound.

Thanks Dusan - wasn't sure if we were even talking of the same car but wouldn't think there would be that many around with that set-up.

All the Spoilers i`ve seen on Tomcats looked like the ones on a 800 fastbacks
