Mk1b/c 820 Si being Scrapped, Derby

Hi folks - spotted this today completely unexpectedly.

Judging from the debris within the car and stickers etc it had spent some of its life in Cornwall and the remainder in Derby, where it appears to have come to journey's end just shy of the magic 100k.

This is at Albert Looms scrappers, Derby - tell 01332 673 663. I have made enquiries and it is likely to be aroubd for about another 3-4 weeks from this date. Aparet from souvenir-hunters it appears complete - the screen finisher, washer bottle and filler neck were still present and correct (thought I noticed the return pipe area was cracked on the water bottle). It has a mint Mk1 dash though someone appears to have bust the glove box lid trying to get inside ot. And obviously the back window has gone.

I am monumentally busy at the moment so can't commit to doing big stuff - BUT - it someone needs somethin which is quick and easy to retrieve, then I might be able to rescue it an post it for you at cost. But the remainder is there for the taking at the moment.

It's a good old-fashioned go round and take bits off yourself scrappers so good hunting!

Hard to tell from the rear pic but does it have a towbar on it Rich?

Hmm, can't rightly remember Chris but it does look like one sneaking into the bottom of the picture doesn't it?

It does have:

Screen finisher
Filler Neck
Expansion Bottle (overflow pipe cracked but otherwise good)
Window switch (obviously unknown if it works).
Mint Mk1 dash
Good interior, (passenger's side door card has been bent by souvenir hunters, as has rear seat back.)
Parcel Shelf
Engine untouched (at this stage)

Great spot Rich, and thanks for bringing it to the attention of the masses.

Sounds like a great source of 'fill in' parts for someone's storage shelf.

As I say, if anyone needs anything quick and easy (i.e. something relatively clean/ topside, which I can realistically rescue in a lunchtime and get back to work) then shout up, I may be able to help and can post small bits.

I'm needing a brake servo cover (the metal tray that lurks under the plastic windscreen scuttle covers) if it's possible for you to get to it easily.
It's the only outstanding article on the Mk1 I'm just finishing so the timing couldn't have been better.
Totally understand if it's too much trouble though.

Great find, I saw you mentioned that you wouldn't mind getting easy stuff off the car. Would you kindly see if the top windscreen outside seal trim and the wooden interior dashboard trim on the passenger side (above glove box) is in good condition please?

If so could I pay you for them and have them posted to Peterborough please?

Partial success!

Servo cover retrieved, bit rusty at the back but not perforated - will clean up and paint no trouble, also perfect in the visible areas.

Wooden dash bit recoverd - it's reasonable, few minor wrinkles but it hasn't delaminated or gone white.

Screen finished - bust it when I was about 1/3 of the way along - sorry!

ChrisE - yep, it does have a tow bar, just the tow ball itself has gone.

Should be able to post early next week, I'm chocka until then!!

Ok mate, ta. I'll see if I can make time and go and see what type it is.

Looking for one with mounts to the crashbar and/or a proper Rover one that replaces the crashbar.
