It may have various things stored in the fault code and the "trims" memories that prevent it adjusting properly to the higher octane fuel Nick. It also clears faults logged in the memories of the ABS and EAT (V6 models) ECUs - i'm 99% certain it resets any fault codes in MEMS as well but i'd have to check to be 100% certain. I know certainly on the 2.7 it will and as Dean has a 2.7.................. :D
Cheers,
Dave

Do you think it might help with the Emissons at MOT time then Dave....

It didnt with mine. I pulled S about 2 weeks before my MoT and it was the worst emissions ive seen. It took 2 attmepts to get it through. Now granted its a different machine down here and Im 300 miles south, but for the last 20 years of MoTing these at the same garge up north Ive always had really good results.
Just pulled it anyways t reset for this Shell V Max stuff its using.

It could do Dean but only if you give it a few weeks to retune itself before the MoT as Nick points out, he pulled fuse S about 2 weeks before and it took a bit longer until it had sorted itself out. That said the MEMS system (i assume it was on your 820 Nick?) takes longer than the Honda PGM-Fi system fitted to the 2.7 so that may be why.
Cheers,
Dave
