Hmm. Listed as 827, yet obviously 825 KV6. So why does it have a non-airbag dash? :?

I saw this one as well. I quite like it :-) And as far as I know all limos had non airbag dashes. Certainly all the ones I've seen have been that way.

Why though? As far as I know, they didn't even make the non-bag dashes by this point!

Perhaps they had a stash of them that needed using up.

It's strange that all the KV6 hearses/limos that come up for sale are described incorrectly as "827" too. I reckon that as ebay takes its details from the registration plate, the cars started their life with that incorrect designation.

I'd love another limo...

I don't know to be honest, although my theory is that as they were designed primarily with the funeral trade in mind they were never gonna be going fast enough to warrant it.

Even the steering wheel is non airbag, as Rob says maybe industry related or maybe the cut and shut nature of the limo build although I cant see how that would effect the front airbags. Unlike now the airbag systems back then are very easy to remove as they were a seperate stand alone system, today they are all intergrated into the car loom.
I think the non airbag dash would have been readily available back then, maybe even markets that never had airbags fitted, not sure.
There are 3 Limo's on the database, all are based on Si spec cars and average a 3 month lapse between build date and sale date which one would assume is the time taken to perform the conversion.
Always fancied one but cant find a justification for actually having one, that and mid exhausts would have to be hand made and hand brake cables would also be bespoke, wonder where they let in the extended wiring too! its sad I think of these things, must get out more :lol:
