Not sure when the "real" anti-corrosion program started on the 800s to be honest Jon - maybe Brad or someone else with similar knowledge of the range when it was new might enlighten us?

As for the oil in the doors, sills/cavities etc, thanks for reminding me! Want to get the MoT out of the way on both this year then i'll give them a good dosing, possibly with the Smith & Allan version of clear Waxoyl diluted with a bit of turps/white spirit to make it run into all the nooks and crannies. That way if either car needs welding for next years MoT then at least the solvent will have evaporated. Meanwhile i'll keep my eyes peeld and treat any small areas i happen to spot as i go.
