Took this snap a earlier this evening
The grey Ferg finally needed a bit of fettling after 65 years service so I had just finished fitting a new starter and ring gear, plus new clutch assembly while the tractor was split. Had just taken it out for its first run of the season, mowing the paddock. Didn't bother refitting the bonnet for its first shakedown, but all working beautifully.
It strikes me as slightly odd that the Ferg and the LS are worth about the same money these days!
The Ferg is a magnificent piece of design. One of the few truly "perfect" machines that does exactly what it is supposed to do, pretty much forever. It is as significant a piece of engineering as the Model T, and totally revolutionized agriculture after the war. A joy to own and drive.
The Lexus is pretty good too.

Nice to see the commonality between two admired machines.

You're spot on with your description of the "Little Grey Fergie" - it was a real game changer
