I've tried the Insignia - it's horrible. Almost everything about it was annoying - poor visibility, terrible mirrors, generally ugly, lot's of VERY annoying "safety"features.

All of those answers Chris! :P

I know the car is new so you won't be doing the oil changes etc, was just curious to know if it still had a sump plug.
I'll have a look when the weather picks up.

This does too but you can switch them off. Though you need to do that on every journey, I was finding the lane assist annoying on Sunday as it nudges the steering if it thinks you're too close to the white lines.

Thanks Chris, no hurry, just idle curiosity on my part.

Not sure i could tolerate a car that "nannies" me all the time! That Lane Assist would be incredibly annoying round here, very often you have to drive very close to the white line or even over it to avoid potholes.

As for the Insignia, i don't think i've known a car that is so universally disliked for so many different reasons!

I know what you mean, that's life/progress I guess.

We wanted something near new that should in theory last a few years without big bills and just work.

I have no interest these days on doing the tinkering anymore. I have enough other things to do that having a car that just works is a very nice luxury to have.
