I love these cars. Huge inside and full leather trim. Electric seats front and rear and pretty good performance from the very tough 2.9 V6. This one has done under 60000 miles and is near perfect apart from a scratch on the nearside rear wing. This I'll get done soon. I have recently sold my 1987 Granada Ghia 2.9, 1995 Scorpio 2.9 and 1996 Scorpio Cosworth 24V. This is by far the best one and one to keep. I think it's the only Ford I have left.

I had a D reg one of those, a fantastic car handled really well for a car of it's size and was an excellent waft mobile really good at mile munching. I had cloth seats but they were like arm chairs.

I think they do feel big. They have quite low seats and quite high window ledges, though.

Friend of mine who I had this off used to have a 2.4 Ghia, that was a pretty quick car for the size!

One of my favourites,that looks superb Brad,i had a 1993 Granada Scorpio and it is in the top 3 cars i have owned,i love them.

never driven one before so I cant comment, but would love to try one, one day. I never knew they had front and rear electric seats.

I like the later ones though, but not very fond of the estates, I find the back end of the estates look too much like the Sierra estate.

Two things I don't like in cars.

Sometimes too much vis is bad, like in a range rover, you feel on show because of all the glass!

I think you saw this and a couple of others when you came last Summer.

The electric rear seats were available as standard on Scorpios from launch in 1985. And on Safranes from 1993. No doubt many other cars have had them, too, over the years.

This has been immobile for 2 years . I have now changed the coil. It started like a dream and it's now ready for the rest of the attention it needs.

I have made a list:

Bumpers realigned and remounted.
Wheels refurbished
Leather cleaned (it is really grubby) and fed
Paintwork on nearside rear wing
Paintwork on offside rear arch
Paint on bonnet
New FORD Badges
Service including auto fluid change (no drain plug on these!) - messy job
Fit the new headlights and number plates
Tax and MoT and use


I shall budget on a couple of hundred for all of this.
