Well after using my black one every day for the last couple of months I came to the conclusion it was too slow and I wanted something with a bit more go.

My dad already has a T5 but his is auto. So while I was looking at them I came across this which was very local and very cheap.

It's tested till the end of November and taxed till the end of August. It does a few marks here and there. I've added a pic of the worst bit. But as I plan to use it as a skip to replace the black one it doesn't really matter.

More so when I only paid £460 for it. Guy wasn't impressed it fetched so little.



















It has a few minor marks and this where someone scuffed a post.

So far anyway, due to my insurance being moved to another broker I can't use it till Monday for when they open.

Naturally off Ebay. The dent was putting me off but when I spotted the auction it was only on £400 so thought I'd watch it and see what happened. I chucked £650 on in the dying seconds and was amazed when it finished on £461.

Worst case if it dies it's worth a fair bit in parts. Still has 4 months tax on it.

performance bargain! I had my eye on one last year, but my insurers wouldnt classify it as a classic on the multicar policy i had so it was a no no. Always fancied a white one (quite a few ex police ones around) for a clear run on the motorway

Bit out the blue for me. My dad has an auto one and I prefer manuals so thought I'd take a punt basically.

Well that was short lived.

I got it insured this afternoon, put £20 in it. Drove 10 miles and the oil light came on it started rattling.

I'm assuming the pump has failed. Though it was supposed to have had one swapped very recently along with other stuff.

Such as life. So it looks like I have a spares car.

Had that on my first new Esprit in 1988. Just one week old and 600 miles, oil light, failed oil pump...new engine.

Never known that happen to any of the 5 cylinder lumps.

T5s are usually driven like they were stolen and still get to 200k+ miles.

If you want to recoup your cash quick....

Crank sensor
Window switches
Stereo (if CD)
Wheels
Turbo
Alternator (if 120A)
Wing mirrors

Those bits alone will get you back the purchase price if you sell them on ebay and are all easy to get at. Stripped V70s weigh in at just over £200.

I sort of had that in mind when I bid on it. I'm not looking to do with these as I have with 800s so might just hang to the whole car if I make space for it.
