scoobyh123 wrote:Just back from the dreaded annual test and pleased to report another (nearly) "clean sheet pass".

The fly in the ointment as it were was the LPG had lost its idle setting somewhat and was throwing out 5.44% CO but a quick tweak with an 8mm spanner while the laptop was hooked up and 0.08%CO, HC was a bit high at 445ppm but well within pass limits and when corrected (by dividing by either 7 or 12 depending on the machine and i forgot to ask) would only be something like 63-64ppm HC in reality. The reason for this is instead of the normal Hydrocarbons, it measures Hexanes from LPG and the figure needs correcting as described.

So there we have it, another 827 with another years life at least! :D

Cracking news mate!

I just sneaked through on my LPG test - I too had to tweak it slightly. Silly MEMS and it's self learning even in limp home mode....

Here's to another year of motoring.

Nicely done mate. Always nice to know the fleet is in good nick ;-)

When is the UAV's MOT?

Thanks mate - the UAV is due in December and as i recently managed to hunt down the "Holy Grail" aka a front pipe for it that's one less thing to worry about on that as well. :D

I hate Winter MOTs .

Last thing I wanna be doing is laying on the floor outside in the cold and wet trying fix a motor.
Especially if it's your only form of transport.

You're not wrong Dean! Winter MoTs are a right royal ocean-going pain in the Khyber Pass! Even early spring or late autumn comes into the same category!
Seriously thinking about putting the UAV/Dogmobile/Volvo in a few months early, just to get the MoT away from December.
Cheers,
Dave

I would, I've done that several times in the past.

Though I did regret it once on an XR3i convertible I once had. Because of wanting to fit a private plate at the same time the DVLA wanted to inspect it due to how many had dodgy pasts. Meant the car was off the road for 6 weeks of the summer which was very annoying.

I've got a new front pipe and a set of tyres to fit before it goes near an MoT station Chris but once those bits are done i'll look at getting it in around September time. I know i lose 3 months test but it'll be worth it so i'm not groveling around on frozen ground sorting something that was previously overlooked! :D

It was also missing the "duck bill" on the end of it that diverts the water away from the inner wing when it reaches the outside world.

Luckily i had a couple of spares :

I don't know about anybody else's experience with these but I always perform a circumcision to the sunroof drain points. Not all the way back like these were but just enough to make the hole bigger. That way dirt washed down doesn't clog the end then water overflows from the very lose fitting hose and floods the boot or worse, floods the sunroof well and soaks the roof liner!
