Thanks for that Shaun - i'll have to have a play with my Ezi-Bleed and a spare cap. Apparently the optimum tyre pressure is about 10psi for the Ezi-Bleed but i'm going to cheat and set the pressure regulator to 10psi on my compressor - it will save me a long walk!
Cheers,
Dave

Been a while since anything has happened with the Vitesse, not getting used enough. A ride out to Leeds last weekend has highlighted a few problems.

After a few miles I could smell hot brakes, this turned out to be the nearside handbrake not fully releasing.
A blow from the exhaust, think it could be manifold.
An annoying squeak from front nearside.
The small fan inside the dash for the air con is getting noisy.

So I thought I'd better get stuck in.................

and fit a Momo steering wheel

I always ran MOMO wheels in mine, made the car feel so much easier to chuck about?

Not had much of a drive yet, certainly feels different just sat in the drivers seat.

No work today plus good weather means a few more jobs done. I have been wanting to adjust my shocks for a while but being the Koni red type means they have to be done off the car which is a right pain in the butt  all adjusted now on to their softest setting(I am getting old).

I have also changed my rear speakers which on a fastback are a bit on the small side. I used to have some 6x9's in the parcel shelf and although the sound was better they didn't look fantastic and was a nuisance when wanting the rear seats down and the shelf out.

Image

A few years ago I bought some more 6x9's in a Halfords clearance sale for a tenner and wondered if I could squeeze them into the original location.

Just for comparison, the original speaker is the one on the left

Image

As can be seen the fixing holes don't quite line up

I used a cutting disc on a Dremmel to open the original hole and just managed to shoehorn them in, the standard speaker grills still fit ok as well. Now fitted with a another parcel shelf bought from Chris when he disbanded his Rover Empire(how many years ago?)

Looking a lot neater than before, worth the wait.

I found my Koni's felt very odd on the softest setting.

Coming up 4 years now mate. Seems longer now.

It's odd Chris but from this side of the computer screen it seems like only about 2 years. Strange.

A lot has changed for me since then so probably that's why it feels longer?

But around this time in 2012 when I was clearing out.

Cheers Dave, its the small jobs I've been meaning to do for the last few years.

The new springs I put on last year are a tad firm and although it was ok on the open road, round town was a bit crashy. It now feels like I have actually got some suspension, I can feel it move

My Mondeo feels like that most of the time. It handles very well but in all honesty the ride quality is poor.

Might be speaking out of turn here Chris as the newest Mondeo i've driven is an 03 but they all seemed to be like that, whether they were bottom of the range or top or even the ST200 - in fact moreso the ST200 as that had beefed up suspension to cope with the extra power.
Cheers,
Dave

Mine's an 07 though it's the only one I've ever driven TBH so can't say on the rest.

It would be nice to have the best of both worlds though. We'll see if I ever find anything I want.

Looks a bit strange not being on your old wheels?

Just so use to seeing it like that.
