Very happy boy now,
Went out after my dad rang me while on lunch"check all the fuses under the dash"he said.
Not feeling hopeful I did as told and lo and behold the abs 10 amp fuse under the dash had a gap. New one put in and now the light goes off.
Maybe after years of non use when they put the battery on it,Maybe it surged the system.
Thanks again everyone from a very happy man

That's great news! As long as it stays out when you start moving it you should be fine - also explains why the self-diagnostic function didn't work!
