Based on how many of these have been unsold in the past I doubt it.

Can only be about 10 left now?

Maybe I'm being wishfully thinking about these cars. I'm sure people who know 800's are aware of how collectable 820 Tickfords are, but perhaps the same people don't see them as valuable enough to buy as projects with the possibility of them being a nice future investment. The problem is though many enthusiasts don't take the plunge and pay what the cars are actually worth, and thus there is not much hope that any of the 800 models will increase in value; more will become scraped by those assuming the car is worthless.

In Europe, 800's are worth nearly 50% more because the mentality and loyalty to the Rover marque is greater then in the UK.

Another related problem the Tickfords face Charles is the 25/45 "boy racer brigade" who buy them as cheap sources of a 2.0 turbo engine and box with no regard to the models history, development or important place in the history of the 800 range or indeed the history of the "B" series engine from way back when and its development throughout the decades from Austin, Morris, BMC, BLMC, BL, Austin-Rover etc.

Dave

I can't really explain why it is, only going on past exprience. For whatever reason nearly every (not all) Tickford I've seen sell has really struggled to find a home.

Perhaps lots of factors?

Maybe "fear of the unknown"? People are scared to buy and/or restore a Tickford as they percieve it to be hard to get parts for and think nobody knows anything about it.
Someone like Matt is ideally placed to buy and restore one, he knows the cars (with the possible exception of the finer points of the Tickford/820 Turbo) and what he doesn't know he can almost certainly find out on here. He also has the enthusiasm to do it as well so i'm looking forward to his project thread on it! :D

Dave

Just found this front bumper beam which the ebay seller (Ade) states is for 820 Turbo and enhancement pack. Thought it would be useful if your in need.

I got a good condition used one a couple of years back after I had a little accident in my car.
The original one just crumbled away. Luckily that prevented the crash cans from getting bent.
The one in the ebay picture is a rear one as the front one is a lot more substantial and has brackets for the headlamps.

Here's a comparison of old v new.
